So its looking like Dortmund are going to land the NEXT BIG THING from England. Again. They are negotiating with Birmingham for 16 year old prodigy Jude Bellingham. Looks like is going to emulate Jadon Sancho.

Sancho looks likely to move this summer. But its going to take a lot of money to make it happen. United, Chelsea, or City seem the most likely to stump up well over 100m for him. He doesn't fill united's biggest needs but would be shocked if they weren't in for him.

Wonder why Man Utd cooled their interest in Bellingham...maybe because they'd have to pay £40m but Dortmund could get him for half that haha.

My guess is that because he's not a ready-made star with immediate high level marketing potential and possibly because his agent isn't a major buddy of Woodward's...?

Werner to join Champions League club Chelsea for his whatever release clause....does he not realise the season isn't over yet. Imagine the scense when Chelsea don't qualify for the Champions League

Still a good move for him to be honest. Chelsea have a young squad which will only get better over the next few years.

Also top five will get you UCL, I can't see City's ban being overturned. Guess we'll see though.

Better move for Werner imo, he'll play more games and can then move up again if he reaches his potential.

Werner and Pulisic is exciting for Chelsea.

Young, exciting squad for sure. Probably need a left-back and a commanding centre-back still I reckon though. And a decision on Kepa.

I thought Kepa was the one that makes the decisions at Chelsea?

So since Sané doesn't renew his contract with City, he'll end up in Munich with a 99% chance. Ugh.

Bayern like to tap up to get great deals almost as much as Barcelona do.

Yup... another big problem about their dominance here. They basically have the time at hand, to just say "we'll wait a year or two years, so his contract is up". Doesn't help that the media writes many great talents very early towards them. We basically wait for two years now, that the Havertz deal gets confirmed.

    Re: Transfer Talk Thread

Angel Gomes' contract is expiring tomorrow evening. Ole has all but confirmed that he's leaving.

Absolutely shambolic that one of the brightest players to come through our academy in quite some time is being allowed to leave. I can understand his reluctance to signing a new contract, as he's unlikely to get a look in that attacking midfield area ahead of Fernandes and Pogpa and out wide we have Greenwood, Martial, Rashford, James and Chong ahead of him in the pecking order (though he's miles better than Chong and James IMO). Still, we should be doing more to try and keep him at the club.

Somebody is going to be getting a very good young player for free.

Either that or he genuinely hasn't impressed as much as fans have expected when it has mattered?

He's a young lad and has had an offer on the table to stay at Man Utd. If he and his team have decided to reject that then let's see how his career pans out elsewhere.

Genuinely not bothered. He has had a few opportunities and not done much and he isn't going to get in our midfield in the attacking areas. I also think the way he has wrangled over his contract for so long says a lot about him. Having said that I fully expect him to be a star somewhere else now...

We’ve been heavily linked but im
not sure he’s worth the risk.

Apparently turned down £25k a week at United. Certainly not worth that yet.

I don't see the point in him going to Chelsea, he's not going to play there either. If he stays at the Prem level, he'll end up at oh I don't know a Newcastle type of team?

    Re: Transfer Talk Thread

I don't agree that he's been given a fair shake of the stick at United. He's barely featured. I don't blame him at all for wanting out. I don't think it was about the money for him, it was about whether he was going to be playing anytime soon or not. Answer to that is he wasn't, evidently. Time will tell if having faith in Pogpa being a long term player for us will pay off, but if Pogpa sulks and wants away again in a few months time then it will have been a mistake to let Gomes go, because we could have cashed in on Pogpa and played Gomes alongside Fernandes.

Not sure where he's going to end up. Don't see him at Chelsea as he's not likely to get a game there either. I don't necessarily think he's stay in the Premier League to be honest. I could see him going to any of Europe's top leagues.
Wherever he goes somebody's getting an absolute bargain.

I completely disagree, he hasn't deserved more chances this season and I trust Ole's judgement. It is also quite well known he's been wrangling for a contract with a massive pay rise for most of the season Tommy. I'm sorry but good riddance. Hate players like that or at least players that have agents like that.

My argument would be that he's deserved as much a chance to play that James or Chong have had. Chong has featured much more than Gomes this season for example but has been bang average every time he's played. James has also (IMO) been average overall this season. Got off to an excellent start but then faded really badly. He's a bit out of his depth to be featured so much at this point to me and has shown that he needs more time to develop.
How much of an opportunity has Gomes had? He's been an unused sub a handful of times, got a handful of minutes under his belt here and there. That's it. Nowhere near enough.

As for the bolded, I wasn't aware of this so thanks for bringing this to my attention. I agree, that's not the kind of player I want at the club either and of that's the type of agent he has then good luck to him elsewhere.
Like I said, if Pogpa is fully committed long term to United then it's a moot point at the end of the day as you take Pogpa (when he's playing well) and Fernandes any day over Gomes. But, time will tell on that one.

We'll see where he ends up and how he does.

    Re: Transfer Talk Thread

Jadon Sancho has an agreement 'in principle' with Man Utd over a five-year contract worth up to £200,000-a-week. Sadly the fee wrangling with Dortmund is likely to go on all summer.
