Loads of interest in Chicarito from Mexico and MLS, if he wants to do that at this point. Have a feeling he will want to stay in Europe a bit longer.

He could grab a few more seasons in Europe before returning home. I still hate the fact LVG sold him, stupid idiot.

West Ham have been linked with Russian striker Fedor Smolov, probably why they are cleaning out the strikers that David Moyes isn't too keen on.

As for good defenders there's plenty around if you just look hard enough. Davinson Sanchez being an example.

Not going to miss Coquelin. I like him and hope he does well at Valencia. Step up for Coquelin as he could be playing CL football next season and Arsenal will most likely be back in the Europa League. We’re really bad at getting value for our players. £12m is a joke in today’s market. We should have pushed for at least £20-25m. Best of luck to him.

Coquelin had two good seasons but then his form dropped. He’s struggled for game time. Decent squad player but no big loss. Shame he never scored for us. One down, Theo next please. Now we need to clear out many more fringe players and replace them with better players.

Wenger named our new signing Mavropanos on the bench against Chelsea last night. He didn’t play but I thought he was going out on loan because Wenger didn’t think he was ready for the first team. He impressed in training plus our defence is shit and we have injuries. Looks like Wenger might keep him with the first team for the remainder of the season. Let’s see how he gets on.

Barkley’s a good addition to the Chelsea squad but I think he’ll struggle to get game time there.

I've read that City are dropping out of signing Sanchez and United are going to bid. Apparently, Wenger wants Martial for Sanchez why stop there? Ask for Pogba & Martial. Honestly, Coquelin played really well when Cazorla was in the lineup. Now that his career could be over and the lack of playing time, this move makes sense for him.

Apparently Arsenal want Malcolm to replace Alexis. I'd prefer Lemar personally, but apparently this guy could be the real deal which is expected with a 45m price tag.

United should never have sold Hernadez.

Totally agree with that, he could have continued in his super sub role and banged in a decent amount of goals.

Hernandez is shite, no idea what any of you are on about. West Ham doing themselves a solid offloading him.

Not at the time, but he still wouldn't have helped United with creating chances which under LVG was our problem. Actually I think United had the best shot to goals ratio under LVG, so Hernedez wouldn't have done much for us. Should've got a bigger price though.

He can't get in the West Ham team over Andy Carroll.

    Re: Transfer Talk Thread

Is that because Chicarito lacks the quality or because David Moyes likes to attack almost purely through crosses and Hernandez is less suited to being a target man than the lumbering ent that is Carroll?

    Re: Transfer Talk Thread

I think it's because Carroll is pretty dangerous when he plays, while Hernandez is having a shocking season. Moyes seems to prefer Arnautovic up front instead of either of them.

Hernandez is awful. His record in the Bundesliga was shite last season so West Ham should never have signed him.

In other news Harry Kane is not bad eh?

I selfishly want Harry Kane to leave Spurs and go abroad because he's the first person that I could see breaking Shearer's record. What a phenomenal player.

Kane is pretty special I give you that. Would love to see him try his hand in Spain or Italy though...granted the latter is almost certainly not going to happen but it would be nice to see how he goes in different climates.

Real Madrid will come in for Kane after he wins us the World Cup.

Ridiculous rate of goals. He'll join the 100 club by the end of the month and by the end of the season Kane is going to be in the top 20 goalscorers in premier league history at 24 years old.

It's interesting hearing Pardew say he needs to sell to raise some funds Ed...do you think that means Evans is off so he can re-invest that £20m on 3/4 players?

why invest that on 3/4 players when you can invest it on just one?

Not quite sure he'd cost that much at this moment of his career you know....maybe it's time for them to ask Afonso Alves to come out of retirement? He can't do worse than Rondon.

What, exactly, are you implying Mr Baldrick? He has more talent than the entire Northern Ireland team combined!

It's a steal. 2004 Allsvenskan wins don't compare to being the 2015 Saudi Prince Crown Cup runner up! Pretty close though. Maybe if they can get Alves out of retirement they can form a strike team that would rival Harry Kane.
