Muller is such a unique player, so I definitely don't think Rodriguez - or anyone - can be a drop in replacement for him and what he does. But in being a unique player, Muller also isn't the easiest tactical fit. Would be a bit odd if they were willing to get rid of him because of Ancelotti, given that the manager isn't going to be there for that long. I honestly don't think Muller will go anywhere.

Chess have agreed a fee for Alvaro Morata so that move is done now subject to a medical and personal terms being agreed. The fee could rise to £70m with add ons.

I find it very strange that United weren't willing to go for Morata because they were unwilling to pay what Real wanted, yet, they were happy to pay £90m for Lukaku. Very strange.
Anyway, great signing for Chelsea, I hope for his sake though that the splinters on the Chelsea benches are more comfortable than the ones at Madrid, since that's where he'll be spending most of his time playing backup to Costa.

Real were playing hard ball over Morata....i'm interested to find out the actual fee for him as we all know Real were telling Man Utd £75m or so or give De Gea in exchange...which everyone knew wouldn't happen.....

As for Man Utd Jose must be fuming that Ed hasn't got him a wide man and a central midfielder.....
I have a plan so cunning......

Costa won't be a Chelsea player when the window shuts. He's Atletico bound.

Also hearing the initial fee for Morata is £58m with add ins possibly taking it to £70m.

They were, but if £70 with add ons will do it for Chelsea then what was the issue for United? given that we've splashed out more on Lukaku? Strange to me. So either the fee is higher than being reported or United were being stingy? Who knows. I'll be very annoyed if we find out that the price was dropped for Chelsea.

Apparently we're still 'close' on Perisic, so that's a waiting game I think. There's no talk about Matic, Fabinho or any central midfielder any more though. I did see reports that United are interested in Ross Barkley this morning however... Still a ways to go in this window.

Apparently so, but I'll believe it when I see it. I know that it's widely reported that Costa's on his way out but the reports I've seen are that Morata's been brought in as a backup, and I'm presuming that implies to Costa. Very expensive backup striker if you ask me, which lends credence to suggestions that that's not the case, but we'll see.

In a slight segway, I'm of the opinion that clubs under a transfer ban shouldn't be able to negotiate transfers of any kind during said ban.

I agree on banned teams being able to negotiate.

Costa is 100% leaving. Morata will be our #1 striker with Batshuayi as his backup.

We are still looking for a pair of full backs and maybe another central midfielder. The former two I would have loved Sandro and Danilo, but thanks to Bonucci and Alves leaving Sandro looks very unlikely whilst it seems City will beat us to Danilo.

Looks likely to be that way.
I wonder when will Batshuayi be given a proper chance though? I like the look of him but he's never been given a chance at Chelsea so far.

I'd like to see Danilo at Chelsea more than City. I just see him as a better fit for Chelsea for some reason. Looks like City are the favorites though. I'm a little confused as to why Chelsea are looking for full backs though. You've got Moses, Alonso who performed fantastic this past season, are you looking to replace them? I'd like to see Chelsea give Kenedy a chance as I think he could be a decent wing back given the chance.

Last year there was no Champions League. This year there is so we need to step up the quality of our side.

I agree on Marcos Alonso being very good last year, but he can only play LWB and not LB, which is why we are in for Alex Sandro or a player of similar standards so that Conte can play a back four at times.

Moses however has done a decent job but he's not top tier in that position. Danilo would be an upgrade, which is what we should be doing. Danilo though is a bit like Alonso if his Madrid tenure is anything to go off, good wing back, not the best full back, which is lucky that if he did sign for us we have Azpilicueta who can play RB in a four, but isn't as effective as a wing back.

I don't rate Kennedy that much. He's okay but he could barely get a sniff at Watford on loan. Three prospects I'm hoping get some time this year are Christensen, Musonda and Baker.

Makes sense. Christensen looks like a great player in the making, hopefully we'll see him given a chance at Chelsea this season.

Weat Ham have agreed. Deal for Javier Hernandez. He had a £13m release clause in his contract. I wonder why his release clause was so little? Fantastic signing for the Hammers if they pull this off. Proven in the Premier League, proven in Europe too if West Ham qualify in the future.
West Ham are doing some great business this wine. Hart, Zabaletta, Arnautovic and Hernandez brought in. Things looking good doe the new season for them.

Villa sign Chris Samba. I'm not sure Steve Bruce knows what year it is.

Oh god ill hate to be a villa fan, the club is going in the toilet. Signing old out if prime average players who are not even good enough for the championship.

One ring to rule them all , one ring to find them, one ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them

Actually I think they've got a decent chance of promotion in all honesty.

Can imagine the pacey strikers in the Championship are going to love playing against Terry and Samba!
