Final question from me today, for twelve points: If a movie was being made about you (abliet a highly-stylished rehash), directed by you, who would you cast as the lead actor to play you?
Definitely Seth Rogen, since not only do we look alike but we have basically the same personality.

    Question is about Christian Slater.

What movies has he made that you feel will stand the test of time? And what were some of your personal favorites from his body of work?

He hasn't been in many films that I can honestly think will stand the test of time. If you don't count films where he was the lead or at least the lead male, I can think of only Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves and The Contender (there's that movie again) as two that should still be watched 50 years from now.

As far as films he's had the lead in, I'd think True Romance and Heathers are the first two that come to mind as essential films that people will still take inspiration from for years to come. Pump up the Volume could fall into that category but it seems to be relatively overlooked, which is sad.

I'm a big fan of Slater though, and normally like him in everything (I even saw Alone in the Dark because he was in it) but my favourite movie with him is definitely Gleaming the Cube. I love everything about that movie, from the simple yet effective story to the awesome skateboarding. It's really an 80's gem that deserves a wider audience. I also really liked him in Heathers, Pump up the Volume, Kuffs, 3000 Miles to Graceland, Very Bad Things and Hard Rain (which is another film I don't think a lot of people remember but it kicked ass).

Nobody did it better than Errol Flynn in The Adventures of Robin Hood and that's probably the best Robin Hood film I've ever seen. Loved Rickman as the Sheriff of Nottingham in the Costner film though. However, my personal favourite Robin Hood film is the Disney version where all the characters are played by animals. I love that movie and still watch it all the time.

My favorite too plus the **** and his singing. I watch it still and have been getting my kids to watch it too. My daughter loves the opening song.

What about Cary Elwes? You didn't like his Robin Hood?

Yeah, he was great in a more comedic role, but I prefer the classic Flynn portrayal. Honestly, I like Elwes when he's more serious, like in Glory.

But he was the only Robin Hood to have a proper accent.

See, that automatically puts him right to the top of the list. Now, rethink it.

I did, and Flynn still comes out on top, but I'll put Elwes in second place. Have you ever seen Connery play him in Robin and Marian? Just brutal. A mop would have done a better job.

No, I have stayed away from it. I'm not big on any of the Robin Hood films, so that was of no interest to me.

It's not even a good movie to make fun of, its just plain awful, though Robert Shaw is a decent Sheriff of Nottingham. Nowhere near Rickman's level but really, who could be?

Nobody could be better than Rickman at anything he plays. Rickman and Tommy Lee Jones are gods amongst men.

I agree. I can't think of a single film with either of them that I didn't like simply because they were in it.

Exactly. I have pretty much loved everything they have done.

What would be your favorite film from either of them?

For Rickman its Die Hard hands down, great movie and he played perhaps the greatest villain of all time. Deathly Hallows Part 2 would be a close second though.

For Jones I'd say its a toss up between The Package, Blown Away and The Fugitive. Oh and No Country For Old Men. Damn Tommy Lee Jones rules.
