    Re: Currently Watching - Redux

I've never been able to get into Inglorious Basterds. I've watched it, or tried to watch it at least 5 times and I don't really get into it. A lot of it had to do with my expectations for the movie the way some people have praised it. I just never found it that good or entertaining. It did have some good spots, but overall for me just fell short. Maybe I am missing something with the point of the movie.

Aftermath: When the Earth Stops Spinning
Talks about what would happen over time as the Earth slowly stops spinning. From longer days and nights to making it harder to breath once the Earth stops spinning all together. I don't know what it is about shows like this but they always seem really interesting and I love watching things like this.

actually i am not really into such movie plots as IB, but the first scene with Hans Landa in that small hut or something, that set the pace really well. Hans Landa made the movie for me, if you take him out, it's probably a movie i will give 7/10, but i ended up giving 9/10, infact the climax made me cut 1 mark from a perfect score. I know it was meant to be fictional but it came across cheesy and lame to me. Other than that, i really enjoyed the movie as the villain was perfect. Loved it when Waltz got an OScar for that

How is the climax cheesy and lame? It's the perfect end to a revenge film. In fact, I believe I rated the film 9/10 as well, partially due to how much I loved the final act.

Currently watching Chato's Land, a 1972 Western with Charles Bronson. Speaking of revenge films, this is pretty much one, with his woman getting raped and him going off to kill upwards of 20 people. Standard formula stuff, but there's a scene where a dude falls face first into a fire and its pretty nasty.

    Casino - 8.5/10

really good movie, if you liked Goodfellas you will love this one too, Niro and Pesci always have that great chemistry, Sharon Stone surprisingly acted well.

The only thing bothering me was that they could have done it in shorter runtime too, i hate long movies but that's not the reason, just that some unnecessary explanation increased the plottime by 15-20 mins.

    .
just that if they were gonna kill the main villain and exact the revenge, they should have taken a fictional character rather than taking Hitler himself and burning him inside a theater. It really didn't came off well with me. The fact that the revenge was a good thing made me become less pissed. Though i would have loved an unhappy ending rather than changing history books here.

To be fair the concept of the film, at least to me, seemed to be historical fiction, where of course the writer/director are free to do with the characters what they wish rather than telling a factual tale.

    Re: Currently Watching - Redux

ya i know that's why i mentioned that it was supposed to be fictional, but it was too much to digest. Also, they had that music going in the background and dramaticizing the whole scene which made it look even odder to me.

And has any movie changed any historical fact to such extent before?

    My Wife and Kids

Watching the episode "Michael Joins A Gym". One of my favorite episodes of My Wife and Kids, just because of EURO TRAINING~!~!~!!! Plus, there's a black, jacked up version of Chris Masters in this episode who is just spot on with his lines and pec dances

I actually watched that a couple of months back and loved it. I'm definitely a sucker for behind the scenes stuff when it comes to films I love, and even some I hate.

Just watched X-Men and X-2 back to back and I have to say, the first one is pretty weak but the second makes up for it. Nightcrawler's visual effect is amazing and the story in the second one is pretty compelling. Plus you can't go wrong with Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellan acting circles around their younger co-stars.

I watched it last weekend and thought it was ok and I really liked how we saw what happened from the beginning. I liked it better than the second one

    The Artist - 8.5/10

good movie overall, jean dujardin was really great in his role and will surely get an oscar nomination, the dog was hilarious. In middle, it went through a bit predictable scenes but the climax was quite good.

Flipping between the Heat/Lakers game and the new episode of Jersey Shore.

IDGAF what you say about Jersey Shore because I find it funny as all hell. Also I have to watch my favorite basketball team debuting their new all black uniforms against the Lakers. Go Heat!
