    Champions - Part I

    WWE United States Championship
Joe Hennig © versus Cody Rhodes

The pride of one's family usually drives a WWE superstar onto wanting to better themselves week after week. But what lengths will one go to when the pride of their family has been targeted.

That is exactly what has happened to Joe Hennig as the WWE United States Champion deals with the consequences of his departure from Legacy. After a month of Legacy leader Cody Rhodes being absent from WWE programming, the dashing one returned and choked out Hennig with his own towel. The next few weeks saw Rhodes again absent, but only physically as a series of videos aired, showing Rhodes with several famous sports stars, out-performing them at their own game. This of course was a direct insult towards Joe Hennig and his late father Mr Perfect, with Rhodes laying claim to being 'Better Than Perfect' at the end of each video. This finally backfired on Rhodes as Hennig came out on the last Smackdown before Summerslam, dressed as Rhodes' father Dusty Rhodes, and doing a to-the-tee impression of The American Dream. Pride of one's family is on the line at Summerslam, as well as the WWE United States Championship, as two former stable mates clash in the heat of Los Angeles. Cody Rhodes will have the backing of Legacy as he looks to win the United States Championship, but the WWE Universe will truly be behind Joe Hennig as The Product Of Perfection tries to put his ties to Legacy firmly in the past.

    WWE Tag Team Championship
The Prime Time Prayers © versus The Flood versus Light SaBour versus The Maple Leaf Mafia

Tables, Ladders & Chairs Fatal Four Way

Tables, Ladders and Chairs!! Tables, Ladders and Chairs!! Tables, Ladders and Chairs!!

I don't think there needs to be much said about this match as The Prime Time Prayers head into The Staples Center ironically enough praying that they not only leave with their titles intact but also still in good health. Thirteen years after the very first Tables, Ladders & Chairs Match wowed the fans at this very pay-per-view it will be not three but four teams battling it out to walk (or limp) away from Summerslam with the WWE Tag Team Championships in their possession. The reigning champions will have to hold off the threat of The Flood, The Maple Leaf Mafia and Light SaBour if they are to continue their run as top dogs in the tag team division. The WWE Universe should expect plenty of crazy action as the eight superstars battle it out to be the team that unhooks the coveted gold belts hanging high above the ring!

    WWE Cruiserweight Championship
Austin Blake © versus Prince Devitt

Steel Cage - If Blake wins he gets Scarlett permanently

There are personal feuds, and then there is this feud between Austin Blake and Prince Devitt. The WWE Cruiserweight Championship might be on the line, and this match might be inside a steel cage, but this battle between Blake & Devitt is about one thing and one thing only! Scarlett Marseille!

Devitt's girlfriend was introduced a few months back before she was stalked by an unknown perpetrator. Devitt challenged the stalker to a match at King Of The Ring and the WWE witnessed the debut of Austin Blake, who ambushed and defeated Devitt to capture the Cruiserweight Championship on his first night in the WWE. However, the feud got more personal as Blake continued to one-up Devitt, resulting in the Irishman wanting to get his hands on Blake so much that he agreed to hand his rival Scarlett for twenty-eight days if he lost at Night Of Champions. And lose he did, with Blake taking Scarlett and continuing to push Devitt to the edge of a mental breakdown with a series of videos showing their exploits, and Blake purposely trying to make Devitt snap. With Scarlett returned Blake took the opportunity to have one more personal dig at Devitt, and somehow the Irishman agreed to hand over his girlfriend to Blake for good if he could not defeat him at Summerslam. Devitt's fear for Scarlett's well-being convinced WWE General Manager Paul Heyman to put the two inside a steel cage. Prince Devitt has looked a man on the cusp of losing his mind, but thanks to Austin Blake, he could leave The Biggest & Hottest Party Of The Summer with nothing!

    Champions - Part II

    WWE World Championship
Kevin Steen © versus Dolph Ziggler

A new World champion was crowned last month at Night Of Champions as Kevin Steen added the biggest prize in the industry to his King Of The Ring title.

Wrestling's Worst Nightmare dispatched of Dolph Ziggler like he has most of the WWE roster that have stood in his way over the past year, and at Summerslam it will be The Show Off who tries to recapture the title he lost last month at The Biggest Party Of The Summer. Ziggler himself has been on the most successful run of his career in 2013, with his defeat at last month's pay-per-view his only pay-per-view defeat of the year. The intensity in the feud has been thrown up a few notches, with Steen taking out Ziggler's brother Ryan Nemeth via the concrete floor backstage and Ziggler retaliating by putting Steen's manager Matt Striker through an announce table. The battle lines have been drawn between the pair, and The Show Off knows he will have to better than his best to topple the imposing presence of Kevin Steen that dethroned him last month. The rematch of the matchup of the year is surely going to be a heated one as the two biggest stars in the industry today battle it out in Los Angeles!

    WWE Intercontinental Championship
    Seth Rollins © versus Christian

Since Wrestlemania, Christian had proved himself to be a great Intercontinental Champion. Captain Charisma looked pretty impressive, until he ran into one of the freshest new superstars in the WWE, Seth Rollins.

At Night Of Champions, Christian's five month reign came to an end as he tapped out to The Rings Of Rollins, but defeat left Christian nothing but bitter and envious. The former champion assaulted his successor from behind, resulting in a conchairto atop the steel steps that put Rollins out of commission, seemingly for a long, long time. In the build up to Summerslam, Christian campaigned to be awarded the Intercontinental Championship on the grounds that Seth Rollins could not defend it and could not grant him his contractual rematch. However, WWE General Manager Paul Heyman was in no mood to bend to the demands of Captain Charisma, instead putting his shot at the Intercontinental Championship on the line in several matches, with the Canadian hooking and crooking his way to victory over the likes of Robert Roode, Rob Van Dam and Tyson Kidd. Finally the match was booked for Summerslam, Christian versus Seth Rollins for the Intercontinental Championship, if the latter could recover in time. Christian held a funeral for the career of Seth Rollins on the final Smackdown before Summerslam, and after a false arrival of his Summerslam opponent in the form of a little person. Christian's insults finally brought out the real Seth Rollins after nearly five weeks, and the Intercontinental Champion was back and ready to defend his title at Summerslam. Captain Charisma will be looking to prove that Night Of Champions was a fluke for Seth Rollins, whilst The Architect hopes to finally shut Christian up once and for all!

    WWE Womens Championship
Shaul Guerrero © versus AJ Lee versus Kaitlyn

    Triple Threat

The WWE Women's division has been given a flaming hot new look with the arrival of Shaul Guerrero seeing Latina Heat capture the title and once again halt AJ Lee's quest to regain the title she lost to Kaitlyn.

The year 2013 has seen AJ Lee, Kaitlyn, Paige, Emma, Beth Phoenix & Natalya front the female roster and all six were placed into a turmoil match at Night Of Champions for Kaitlyn's title. The leader of The Divas Of Doom came in last but was dethroned by AJ Lee, who had battled through a post-match attack from the defeated Beth Phoenix to clinch the title. Or so she though?! Head Of The Women's Division Vickie Guerrero had other ideas as she interrupted AJ's celebrations to reveal a surprise entrant, and Shaul Guerrero attacked AJ Lee from behind, and one Frog Splash later was crowned the new WWE Women's Champion. The Guerreros tried their best to worm there way out of Latina Heat defending the title against AJ Lee or Kaitlyn, but WWE General Manager Paul Heyman had other ideas, booking the new champion to defend her title at Summerslam against both AJ Lee and Kaitlyn. A baptism of fire for the second generation star, and both AJ Lee and Kaitlyn will renew their own rivalry as they both look to recapture the title they both lost at Night Of Champions.

    Summerslam Prediction Contest

The Summerslam prediction contest is here and it’s a big one. There is an unique prize up for grabs for the person who gets the most points. Just predict the winner (2pts), the method of victory (1pt) and the order that the match will appear (1pt). The match order will be from 1-12 for the ten PPV and two Preshow matches only (1& 2 will be the preshow numbers with 3 being the Summerslam PPV opener). The two Axxess matches will only have a winner and method to predict. Also there will be plenty of bonus questions to get your head around too as The Biggest & Hottest Party Of The Summer is here… hopefully!!!

    Re: WWE 2012 - A New Direction

    WWE Unified World Championship
Kevin Steen © versus Dolph Ziggler

Winner : STEEN. Not sure what you'd gain by flipping the belt back to Dolph, apart from to cement him as the top dog, but it feels to me like it's Steens time right now, and this should bring an end to the feud.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12) : 12

    WWE Intercontinental Championship
    Seth Rollins © versus Christian

Winner : ROLLINS. Christian has been the highlight in the run up to SummerSlam over the entire thread by carrying this feud, but it'll be Rollins returning to shut him up, and much like Steen in the main, cementing himself as champion.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 6

WWE Tag Team Championship – Tables, Ladders & Chairs
The Prime Time Prayers © versus The Flood versus The Maple Leaf Mafia versus Light SaBour

Winner : LIGHTSABOUR. Horrible team name be damned. Going for new champions in this one, simply because I've predicted champions retaining in the top two matches.
    Order (1-12): 4

    WWE United States Championship
Joe Hennig © versus Cody Rhodes

Winner : CODY. Going for another title change. Should help to prolong the feud too by making Hennig chase Rhodes and Legacy in the coming months.
    Method : PINFALL after interference.
    Order (1-12): 1

WWE Cruiserweight Championship – Steel Cage
Austin Blake © versus Prince Devitt

If Blake wins he gets Scarlett Marseille permanently
Winner : BLAKE. Scarlett is gonna turn on Devitt and reveal she's been with Blake all along.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 7

    WWE Women’s Championship
Shaul Guererro © versus AJ Lee versus Kaitlyn

Winner : SHAUL. She's been too much darn fun as champion.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12) : 5

    Thirty Minute Iron Man
    CM Punk versus Daniel Bryan

Winner : PUNK. If this is the blow off, I think it makes sense for Punk to win the feud and head into title contention. Punk vs Steen sounds like money (despite the Kofi vs Morrison #1 contender match happening too) and the best possible direction heading out of this show.
Method (final fall) : SUBMISSION (potentially Bryan passing out)
    Order(1-12) : 11

Number One Contender to Unified World Championship
    John Morrison versus Kofi Kingston

Winner : MORRISON. Kofi already has MITB, and it wouldn't come as a shock to me if Kofi ended up cashing in during Morrisons title shot, or right after it even.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 8

Evolution versus The Kings Of Wrestling

Winner : KINGS OF WRESTLING. Time to put over the new guys here.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 9

    AJ Styles versus Ryder

If Styles loses he has to embrace The Unreachable and join their group
Winner : AJ. As I've stated before, I've really struggled to buy the Ryder stuff, and while the money is probably in having Styles join the group against his will, I'm going for what I'd prefer to see instead.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 10

    Robert Roode versus James Storm

Winner : JAMES STORM. The Cowboy feels like the hotter act, and 9 times out of 10, the freshly turned heel wins a former partners match, so let's go for that!
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 3

    Cruiserweight Showdown
Team WWE (Helms, Woods, Kidd) versus Team NXT (Neville, Zayn, Kalisto)

Winner : TEAM NXT. No brainer, surely? You don't want to job out the new kids right before the big Cruiserweight Climax. They lose here, and that whole thing is dead on arrival.
    Method : PINFALL
    Order (1-12): 2

    Axxess – Falls Count Anywhere
    Harry Smith versus Drew McIntyre

Winner : SMITH. Thanks to Regal.
    Method: PINFALL

    Axxess
The Guerrillas Of War versus The Usos

Winner : GUERRILLAS. They're brand new. They HAVE to win.
    Method : PINFALL

    Bonus Questions

How many titles will change hands at Summerslam? (1pt) : TWO

Who will take the fall in the Evolution/Kings Of Wrestling match? (1pt) : BATISTA

Excluding the Iron Man what will be the longest match of the night? (1pt) : STEEN/ZIGGLER

In the Tables, Ladders & Chairs who will take the final bump? (1pt) : TITUS

What will be the final score in the Iron Man? (2pts) : 3-2

Who scores the decision in the Cruiserweight Showdown? (1pt) : ZAYN

In the Axxess tag team match which superstar will take the fall? (1pt) : JIMMY

Will there be any surprise returns on the night, not including Heyman’s caller? (1pt) : RIC FLAIR

How many beers will James Storm drink? (1pts) : TWO

Who will be revealed as the man that called Heyman on Smackdown? (2pts) : It's been so long that this feels like new information. Stab in the dark; Eric Bischoff.

    Re: WWE 2012 - A New Direction

    WWE Unified World Championship
Kevin Steen © versus Dolph Ziggler

Winner : Kevin Steen. He's been great in this to this point, and I don't see any reason to go back to Dolph so soon
    Method : Pinfall
    Order (1-12) : 12

    WWE Intercontinental Championship
    Seth Rollins © versus Christian

Winner : Rollins. This was possibly my favourite angle in this for a long time, but with ROllins coming back after all the shit talking means he surely has to go over here
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 10

WWE Tag Team Championship – Tables, Ladders & Chairs
The Prime Time Prayers © versus The Flood versus The Maple Leaf Mafia versus Light SaBour

Winner : Light SaBour. The worst-named team in wrestling history (lol) are the hot new thing, so I'm going to guess they get the belts in the multi-man, setting up a regular rematch with the old champs next month
    Order (1-12): 3

    WWE United States Championship
Joe Hennig © versus Cody Rhodes

Winner : Cody. His "Better Than Perfect" segments have been great, and he's got more upside than Joe
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 4

WWE Cruiserweight Championship – Steel Cage
Austin Blake © versus Prince Devitt

If Blake wins he gets Scarlett Marseille permanently
Winner : Austin Blake, when Scarlett turns on Devitt
Method : Escaping the cage, presumably
    Order (1-12): 8

    WWE Women’s Championship
Shaul Guererro © versus AJ Lee versus Kaitlyn

Winner : Shaul, because she's the most interesting of these three
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12) : 9

    Thirty Minute Iron Man
    CM Punk versus Daniel Bryan

Winner : Daniel Bryan, when Punk taps at the very, very end
    Method (final fall) : Submission
    Order(1-12) : 7

Number One Contender to Unified World Championship
    John Morrison versus Kofi Kingston

Winner : Morrison, as he's got the bigger upside
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 6

Evolution versus The Kings Of Wrestling

Winner : Evolution. The story makes it feel like it has to be the Kings, but I don't think I can buy Batista and Orton losing in something of a midcard match
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 11

    AJ Styles versus Ryder

If Styles loses he has to embrace The Unreachable and join their group
Winner : Ryder, as I think the more interesting angles coming out of this is with Styles as one of the group
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 5

    Robert Roode versus James Storm

Winner : Bobby Roode, because I think you can do more with him after this show than you can Storm
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 2

    Cruiserweight Showdown
Team WWE (Helms, Woods, Kidd) versus Team NXT (Neville, Zayn, Kalisto)

Winner : NXT, as otherwise the big tournament you have planned feels like an afterthought
    Method : Pin
    Order (1-12): 1

    Axxess – Falls Count Anywhere
    Harry Smith versus Drew McIntyre

Winner : Drew, as there's potential to do a lot with him
    Method: Pin

    Axxess
The Guerrillas Of War versus The Usos

Winner : The GOW are the hot new thing
    Method : Pin

In the Tables, Ladders & Chairs who will take the final bump? (1pt) : Ambrose

What will be the final score in the Iron Man? (2pts) : 3-2

Who scores the decision in the Cruiserweight Showdown? (1pt) : Neville

In the Axxess tag team match which superstar will take the fall? (1pt) : Jey

Will there be any surprise returns on the night, not including Heyman’s caller? (1pt) : No

How many beers will James Storm drink? (1pts) : 2

Who will be revealed as the man that called Heyman on Smackdown? (2pts) : I can't remember the angle around this anymore, so I'm going to have to pass on this question

    Re: WWE 2012 - A New Direction

Sorry haven't been on here as much lately. But so glad to see you smashed through the 210,000 views. I have always been a fan of your work since you first started this booking & it it's incredible to achieve that many views. But it is a thoroughly deserved, you put together top shelf show after show, match match, and story lines after story lines.
