Re: 80's Metal General Chit Chat.

Yeah the line in Americon: "It's all about the mother****ing oil, regardless of the flag upon it's soil." is great. And I absolutely love Beauty Through Order.

Setting Slayer aside for a minute, any Cradle of Filth fans up in here? I seem to remember you saying you liked em a long time ago Tommy. Cruelty and the Beast is pretty great and the only album if theirs I don't own is the very first The Principle of Evil Made Flesh. Got into em a couple of years ago an they've become one of my favorites.

I'll admit the first time I heard of Cradle was the episode of Viva La Bam they were on playing Nemesis in Bam's yard and I didn't get into em for a few years until I heard Dirge Inferno. And Cruelty Brought Thee Orchids is definitely my favorite of all their songs.

I love Tragic Kingdom and The Death of Love off of Godspeed, also Godspeed on the Devil's Thunder is possibly the best album title ever.

So I must of missed a good shoutbox late last night then, here's my Metallica order

    Puppets > Justice > Ride > Kill > Black > Magnetic > Reload > Load > Anger

There really isn't much between Puppets, Justice and Ride, all three are albums that I can listen to and not skip tracks in order to get to favourites, the whole album is favourites!. Metallica must be the biggest band never to release a greatest hits collection, imagine how big that's going to be if/when it eventually comes out. Agreed with Tommy's sentiments that after hitting a home run with Death Magnetic and it's world tour, they should of concentrated on the 10th album rather than **** away months with Lou Reed.

So lately I have gotten into my Dad's BLACK SABBATH collection, and man, they ****ing rocked. "Sabbath Bloody Sabbath" has quickly become a favourite of mine:

That and Electric Funeral are probably my two favorite Sabbath tunes.

Black album is off my list because I didn't think anyone would notice, clocked in 1 post ftl

And Sabbath Bloody Sabbath is a masterpiece, Black Sabbath@Download '05? I think was an amazing performance!

This is now officially the General Metal Chit Chat thread. No decade limitations, just all the punishing metal you wanna talk about.

    Re: General Metal Chit Chat.

I think Megadeth's 90's run was awful tbh. Minus the obvious exception. No 80's band had a good time in the 90's really, which is a shame. It wasn't metals time in the 90s, they'd all sold out arenas and then the 90s came and that was it, pop was huge. And Nu Metal. Metal came to the forefront again when Metallica released St Anger.

That snare still haunts me, Ulrich.

Saw the In Flames song live, was much of a muchness to be honest, God knows why Iron Maiden asked them to sub headline for them. They're okay, but obviously Maiden are better...

It's alright I guess, but not better than anything on The Here And Now.
