WWN (EVOLVE) General Discussion Thread

After clearing it with Mark, I figured I'd make a discussion thread for EVOLVE, similar to the CHIKARA one. I really like me some EVOLVE, and I think it sucks that there's barely any EVOLVE talk here besides in the random indy thread. So just leave random thoughts on EVOLVE here. Also, anything about new shows will go here too.

I have one match left on EVOLVE 6(Chuckie/Aries), and I have to say..some of the other matches let me down a little. I should probably re-watch them though. I thought Homicide/Moxley was pretty good(which surprised me), but...a relaxed rules match? Doesn't that kind of go against the entire gimmick of EVOLVE? The post-match stuff was fantastic though.

The post match for Homicide/Mox was brilliant with Mox just standing there and taking it knowing Homicide was getting into more trouble the more he did. Mox was great at provoking Homicide too.

From EVOLVE 7, Callihan vs Sabre, Jr. and Aries vs Moxley were pretty great. The rest was okay but nothing special imo.

I've gotta disagree on Aries/Moxley. I just didn't think they clicked. Plus, Aries had been pretty sick for the week leading into the show, so that could have played a factor. Sami/Sabre Jr was definitely the best match of the night. Fox/Swann was a lot of fun too.

For some reason I had a dream..I think two days ago, that the next show is EVOLVE 8: Fish vs. Swann. Lulz.

I totally dig the Evolve style. I just think stuff like 'relaxed rules' is stupid for them to do. If you're a niche company, stick to the niche.

It's supposed to be all "real sport'ish. Just seems weird to have that kind of match, I mean I didn't see it myself but it sounds questionable either way. I mean, you wouldn't see UFC doing relaxed rules.

That's just a gimmick, they aren't any different to the other mainstream indy companies.

If it's there gimmick then they should be sticking to it then, though. I mean granted they've changed their rules from the beginning so I guess it isn't a big deal, but seems poor to me still. If you're using a gimmick, you should probably stick to it.

Jacobs doesnt have a perfect record, he's 4-2 or 4-3. Younger meanwhile is 3-1.

All three had spoiler matches. Gargano and Taylor won theirs, then went at it and Gargano won. He's the wins leader.

Just watched Aries vs Moxley, and I'm thinking I'm with Bon. Not bad, but kind of iffy. The big bump to the outside was too early and forgotten abou quick, and everything afterwards was really off.
