Cena vs. Miz was pretty bad. It wasn't even a rehash of a really good match. It was an imitation of an average I Quit match and it was awful. Both guys were way off.

Anderson vs. RVD was possibly the most boring, sloppy match I've seen all year. The fact that TNA fans, who usually love pretty much everything, were chanting "restart the match" "no!" pretty much says it all.

    Jeff Hardy vs. Sting

Sting vs Hardy is almost a cop-out of an answer. There was no way that could have been anything but bad.

Sting versus Hardy without a doubt. I know Angle/Jarrett's feud produced a lot of ****, and Cena/Miz at OTL was a debacle, but a company had the ****ing nerve to push out an unresponsible and unresponsive talent out to lay the ground work out for a decent-built main event title match and humiliate Hardy even further, humiliate Sting, and humiliate themselves.

    That is beyond abyssmal.

There's no way any other match besides Sting vs Hardy could win this. Most Abysmal Match of the century, right past the Brisco vs Patterson Hardcore Evening Gown Match. where Patterson had stains in his drawers and did the Stinkyface.

Sting/Hardy although I was insanely bored during Miz/Cena I Quit, **** was only like 25 minutes but it felt like an hour.

I think that's one thing that Sting/Hardy has going for it. Although it was a complete disaster and a stupid decision, it was only about 2 minutes. Miz/Cena was unbearably long and therefore my enjoyment was a lot less than Sting/Hardy.

It's TNA, Sting/Hardy should be expected.

Currently, my pick is Cena vs Miz. It's the biggest show of the year and the main event is a dull, pointless match that has one BS ending, followed by a second one. Maybe the workrate wasn't the worst, but when it comes to Wrestlemania, the bad stands out.

Re: 2011 Most Abysmal Match Of The Year Discussion Thread

Not a bad shout by Jim for Wrestlemania's Cena/Miz, I spent most of the match thinking ok so when is Rock coming down to the ring rather than pay attention to the mediocre match they were putting on, the second BS finish made sense, the first was ****ing terrible, couldn't believe they tried to have a count out draw in the Wrestlemania main event. I still think Miz v Cena at over the limit pissed me off more, at least at Mania they had the balls to let Miz walk out with the title, one of my mark out moments of the year which make me overlook some of the **** that went on before hand.

Why on earth hasn't Cole v Lawler at Wrestlemania been mentioned yet, how long did that drag on for, almost killed my enjoyment of the show. And then after we sat through nearly 20 mins of garbage, they ruined the moment by reversing the decision and letting Cole win. That's the WWE most abysmal match for me.

TNA, it's gotta be Sting v Hardy, but I don't really care about them anymore

Definitely Miz/Cena at Mania. What a total mess and to have that be the main event at the biggest show of the year? Ugh. I would say Sting/Hardy but as others have said, its TNA, so it should be expected from them.

I still say Cole v Lawler was worse, but I guess people didn't have any high expectations for that match.

Cena/Miz from Wrestlemania was bad, but the Over the Limit match was way worse. The Wrestlemania match at least made Miz look a little bit legitimate. The Over the Limit match made him look like a complete joke and was even longer to prolong the agony.

For me, Cole vs. Lawler has been the worst match of the year. I was so pumped up for Lawler pummeling Cole and winning for so long, all my friends were too. And once the decision was reversed, we almost punched the TV out. (we did end up with a few broken glasses though) It was freaking HORRIBLE.

Sting/Hardy should be an obvious nomination.

Yeah Sting/Hardy hardly counts because it was one of the most abysmal match/segment/booking decisions in wrestling history.

Why are people saying Cena/Miz? This is for most abysmal match, not most underwhelming match. Cena/Miz at Wrestlemania sucked for a Wrestlemania main event, and the actual match wasn't good, but it wasn't so horrible that it was the worst of the year. Same for their OTL match.

The worst match is obviously Cole/Lawler. It was shades of Bret/Vince, but this one I had low expectations for. Austin couldn't even make it watchable. It just capped off one of the worst feuds in recent memory.

If you admittedly had low expectations for it then how can it merit consideration for the worst match of the year? Also, it didn't cap off the feud, that continued for two more months if you will recall.

If you thought that the match was going to suck to begin with, how can you consider it that bad if you were right all along?

I didn't mind most of Cole/Lawler. If it wasn't for the fact that they reversed the decision, I wouldn't even think of the match for most abysmal match of the year.
