Not really, I just prefer Sunbather. I really don't dislike any of their stuff so I'm definitely looking forward to the show.

This Will Destroy You is playing here for Canadian Music Week and doing their entire self-titled album (along with other hits) so that should be pretty awesome.

    Did you like Honeycomb?

I'm so conditioned for New Bermuda hate that whenever I see the name Sunbather pop up I just a assume things.

This Will destroy Your as good when I seen them but I'm not largely into post-rock instrumental things so....yeah.

Oh yeah, if that's any indication of where the new album is going then I'll be glad to see some of those tunes live.

On the flip side, I love post-rock instrumental bands so I'm super into TWDY.

Ordinary Corrupt Human Love comes out approximately a week before I see them so I'm expecting lots of new songs in the setlist.

The farthest I go is post-metal stuff like ISIS, SUMAC, Old Man Gloom aka Aaron Turner.

It's their 25th anniversary tour so it's going to be mental I hope. Bought the tickets the moment they were on sale, embarrassingly enough...

Will be riots if they play the Logical Song surely since it's become a song for Scott Sinclair. Can't wait.

From last night's Mastodon show, I was in the first row of the pit! Enjoy some photos. I also have a couple photos (and a video) of Primus if interested.

I recorded Ember City fully. Only song I bothered to record since I didn't want to be glued to my phone screen.

It also features the less than enthused security guard front and center.

    Re: The LIVE! Thread...

That looks rad. I’m not too familiar with Mastodon but that looks like a good time.

Last show I went to was last month it was In This Moment as the headliners with DED and The Word Alive as the opening acts. In This Moment was great, a lot wardrobe changes from Maria Brink the lead singer, but it was all worth it and the rest of the band kept us going with guitar solos. They even covered Metallica’s “For Whom The Bell Tolls” instrumentally, so that was awesome.

DED is a pretty solid act, pretty much nu metal. Same with The Word Alive.

Next show I want to see is in July, 5FDP with Breaking Benjamin, Bad Wolves, and Nothing More. I love 5FDP and I’ve seen them live once almost ten years ago. Never seen BB, Bad Wolves, or Nothing More but I’ve always liked BB and Bad Wolves have become one of my favorite bands recently.

I ended up seeing this show two weeks ago and it was rad. Bad Wolves were the opener and they killed it, imo. A lot of people were still getting seated when they came on but it was a great performance. My buddy found out that the arena was giving out free passes to the mosh pit so we got those in time for Nothing More, who was okay but I wasn’t into them too much. Everyone thought Breaking Benjamin was up next but instead it was 5FDP much to the surprise of us all that figured they would close out the show.

5FDP rocked and the pit was nuts. I didn’t really get involved in the action going in the pit but it was fun to see. A fight even broke out after one of the songs, which I saw coming when the two dudes and even a chick were butting heads and running their mouths at each other. I don’t know what prompted it but I assume that the alcohol being consumed didn’t help matters.

Breaking Benjamin closed out the show and they were awesome. My buddy and I dipped out early though right before their last song, which was Diary of Jane. I like that song a lot but I’d much rather leave early to avoid traffic so it was worth it to get out of there with ease.

    Re: The LIVE! Thread...

    This year I have seen:

    - Alexisonfire w/ Cancer Bats

    - AmenRa w/ Boris

    - Arcade Fire

    - At The Drive-In w/ Death From Above 1989

    - Ben Howard

    - Converge w/ Crowbar and Thou

    - Foo Fighters

    - The Gaslight Anthem

    - High On Fire

    - Immolation

    - The Menzingers w/ PUP

    - Modern Life Is War

    - Napalm Death w/ Eyehategod

    - Pearl Jam

    - A Perfect Circle

    - Queens Of The Stone Age w/ Iggy Pop and Run The Jewels

    - Testament

    - Tiny Moving Parts

    - Touche Amore

    - The Wonder Years

    - The World Is A Beautiful Place & I Am No Longer Afraid To Die

Tomorrow seeing Pianos Become The Teeth for the second time (emotional), and then later in the year have tix for Glassjaw (hype!), Jeff Rosenstock, Deafheaven, The Black Queen, Dir En Grey, Dog Fashion Disco/Polkadot Cadaver, Clutch, and Therapy?

Coheed and Cambria playing London same night as DEG which is a shame otherwise I'd see them. Had tix at Elder but had to sell them as its same night as Deafheaven. Mew are playing literally in the same building as I work with an orchestra but they sold out super quick. Slayer playing their last ever London show day before my birthday - another impossible one unfortunately. May or may not buy tix for Propagandhi, Face To Face and Pusha T as well this year.
