I like Sting but once mid-94 comes around he does literally nothing or me. At all. Owen's not as good as some say but he's a far better wrestler than Sting ever was. Sting carried hi weight fine enough in the Vader matches and tags and stuff but in the Owen vs. Bret matches I could see a case for Owen being the better in them.

Sting sucked after 1994/1995, but he managed to produce a fair amount of quality before then. For Owen, he had a limited amount of matches that can compare to Sting's best, but he was pretty good during the entire decade. I'll give the slight edge to Owen, but it certainly isn't a blow out.

Voted Sting pretty handily. There are not too many (not saying none) memorable matches from Owen outside of his stuff with Bret. He was always a super reliable midcard guy, but never much more. Even in the 90's, Sting comes through for me.

I don't know why people are down on Sting after 94/95, some of his best stuff came in the attitude era storyline wise and that's where he hit his real heights of fame. In 97/98 Sting was one of a handful of people you could say were the biggest in the business. He was always entertaining to me. I liked him as "The Man Called Sting" and "Crow Sting" To me the whole decade was pretty awesome for him.

Character-wise, his best time was from late 1996 until late 1997. However, he wrestled a grand total of zero matches during that time period. Personally, I consider him a non-wrestler that period. Once he started wrestling again at Starrcade, his matches pretty much sucked.

I really wanted to vote Sting here - at his best I found him more entertaining than Owen. Both guys have a few standout matches (Vader, Foley / Bulldog, Bret) that are about equal, but I'm giving the slight edge to Owen for consistency. Sting suffers from being a non-cruiserweight in WCW after 1996. Sting at his worst was offensively bad, whereas I don't really recall Owen at his worst - probably because his worst was solid.

The exact thing could be said w/ Sting and the Vader matches.

This is tough because I really like both guys fairlu equally and can see good arguments either way. I went with Owen though for the same reason Jim did. Owen was pretty much consistant through the whole decade, rarely a bad or dissapointing effort. I love Sting up until '94 but after that he fell off pretty bad.

War Games, Cactus Jack, DDP, and a wide array of Flair stuff from the 90's are all Sting matches off the top of my head that I enjoy going back to watch. He was also pivotal in the early NWO stuff, when it was still good. Even if Sting didn't wrestle actively during all of that storyline, again, there are no guidelines for voting in this tournament. If Sting's character helped shape one of the most important storylines in the Monday Night Wars, then that is an important factor for me. None of that I can really say for Owen, despite, again, him being generally solid all the way through.
