Then both of them advance, hopefully.

    Voted Misawa, struggled to though.

Well, isn't this a massive coincidence?

I think it's obvious who's going through, though they both should, by all rights.

I'm definitely going with Misawa, but it's not definitely as in "Kawada isn't close", because, he's stupidly close and I'm not going to srgue with anyone that says he's the best ever, it's mroe definitely as in "right from the beginning I thought Misawa should win this whole thing".

Fuck this match-up, though. One of the these won't go as far as Dean Malenko apparantly.

Re: WCWT 90's Second Round: Mitsuharu Misawa vs Toshiaki Kawada

Personally I think these guys were number one and number two for the decade, so for this to be a second round match kind of stinks. But it is what it is.

I went for Kawada, thought obviously it's very, very close. While Misawa was being reigned in by Jumbo and Hansen, Kawada had an epic blood feud with Taue, and he was better than Misawa in the later years of the decade. I think he has more truly stand-out and memorable performances, too.

I went with Kawada also....he would be my number one pick for having the best decade ever. Love Misawa to bits but for me Kawada was more versatile, was a notch above the other four at selling and storytelling and in general gave the most memorable performances during his singles and tag encounters.

Randomizing is probably looking pretty good right now, now isn't it? Ehhh, whatever. Misawa all the way. I'll be shocked if he doesn't go pretty deep in the tournament.

Kawada actually doesn't deserved to be blown out. Even against Misawa.

Again, total shame. Kawada would either be #2 or 3 of the decade for me behind Misawa and maybe just MAYYYYYBE Santito. This would hae been a hell of a final match-up. Bloody seedings.

No, it really isn't. Seeding is by far the more logical approach. We lose a great in this match, but under a randomised system, we would have lost at least 10 greats whilst at the same time, there'd be pairs of two weak workers where one would go through.

Tough draws at stage 2 and beyond are the price you pay to ensure that folk who don't deserve to get thrown out at round 1 (here's looking at you AJ Styles, KENTA and others.)

Tempted to vote for Kawada as I really like the guy and it really shouldn't be a blowout given how closely matched they are.
