NBA Association - Oklahoma City Thunder

Starting an Association with Oklahoma City Thunder in NBA 2k11.

    Season settings
    6 Min - Quarters
    Difficulty Level - Superstar
    Numb. Games - 82 games

    Storyline
After Thunder falling to the hands Memphis Grizzle in the 2011 playoffs, a change was promised to happen when general manger Sam Presti stepped down and a new General Manger was hired and his name was Jonathan Willis. Willis promised change and that OKC just needed a little push that will allow the team to move on to the next level and win the NBA Finals. During the summer Willis came through on his promise to bring change as he made a block buster deal to bring Dwight Howard to the Thunder. The Thunder traded recently acquired Kendrick Perkins, Serge Ibaka and James Harden and a 1st round draft pick to the Orlando Magic for Dwight Howard. Change was promised and Willis delivered by bringing in one of the top centers of this decade. The Oklahoma City Thunder look to wreck havoc in the western conference with their big three Durant, Westbrook and Dwight Howard.

Re: NBA Association - Oklahoma City Thunder

I'd really like to know any GM in the league that would trade OKC Howard without getting Durant, or at least Westbrook in return, lol.

STill though...this is interesting. I'll be reading this when I can.

Good luck with this. I don't like the Thunder one bit, but hopefully y'all will do well

Btw, you better have done what I did and upped D. Rose to an 97ovr

I will be checking this out. Must have done something great to get Howard on your team. So far it looks good.

EDIT: re-read first post, playing on Superstar Difficulty.

Hell yes, Durant and Howard is a team that looks lovely on paper but you don't forget I have chemistry on so this new team has to get used to play with each other.

While I faced the Bulls, the team was looking sloppy on defense and wasn't running the plays on offense very well. So I have to find a way for everyone to fit on this team. That my friend will be a challenge.

The same GM who disbanded a great Magic team and well the GM was caught in a tough postion sort like the GM for Denver and Utah was as they knew their star player was leaving at the end of the year. So instead of getting nothing in return I guess they just went with the best offer on the table. I gave up a lot to get this guy, Perkins who is a proven Center and is greatly appreciated for his defensive capabilities and the same goes for Serge Ibaka as he is a great big man who is on his peak. Plus James Harden who is a decent score and throw in the 1st round picks for this year and next year, This was a huge package deal.

I had to bring in a big 3 so ridding of Westbrook or Durant was off limits.

Ah dude, The Thunder is awesome. How can't not love this team, they are a small market team making noise by making smart moves.

As for Derrick Rose, the game has him at a 91 and that seems justified to me.

Thanks man, as for getting Dwight I sure think so but I still have to work him in to my offense system which is a challenge.

Yeah I play on Superstar as playing on Hall of Fame gives me headaches lol.

Yeah that's how it seems like it's working. Though I won't be posting the stats of every game I play as I found that rather annoying so if u want to see what's happening in the Season just check the opening post.

I will post news reports from time to time.

Oklahoma City Supporting Cast is Transparent

During the lost to The Boston Celtics and even in their come from behind win against the Sixers it seems that the role players that surround the big three of Howard,Westbrook and Durant have seemed to be invisible. It was times in the Celtic game when the Celtics were going on their pull away victory on 3 players on the Thunder was touch the ball and the same happen against the Sixers which only became a victory thanks to the heroics of Westbrook who made huge plays on both ends of the court. Now something might have to change because if the Thunder wants to be able to go toe to toe with The Lakers and Celtics of the world the entire team has to work together and play together.

Re: NBA Association - Oklahoma City Thunder

One thing that I don't really care for is that Thunder beat the Bulls but hey, good job on winning the challenge of the Bulls. I prefer the Bulls big time but gets the team going. Deng was a beast on the Bulls. Dunno how he cost the Bulls the basketball game though.

Onto the exhibition with the Pistons, well don't really care for the Pistons that much. They aren't really the best team around there and Thunder are pretty cooler than them if you ask me so glad that they picked up the victory, really don't know if Thunder can be stopped here...if they have a rematch with the Bulls though...they maybe stopped though.

Tension rising with the team? I like that kind of news update, Willy. Anyways, looking forward to their next game and what's happens next in this little trilogy.
