    Re: Currently Playing

Console time has been a bit limited so I've stuck with games I can just pick up and play without much thought like FIFA/Pro Evo & Forza Horizon. Also been playing the Crash remaster with the family and it's crazy hard on some levels. Got the first one done- now onto the second one!

When I get the chance- going to crack on and finish the Spider-Man game and finally start Uncharted 4.

So many games, so little time

    Second Crash remaster is done!

Great fun- but so much stress. Some of these levels seem impossible.

    Onto the third one now

    Re: Currently Playing

Since my internet was down and I was off work, I finally started playing some PS4, which I have since the beginning of August...

Fallout 4 and Hitman are good, Red Dead Redemption II and Dragon Quest Builders are great games. Although I have to say, none of them or No Man's Sky, even with how good they are, really pulled me in so much, that I forgot the time or anything like that. Especially with RDR2 and Fallout 4 I'm surprised by that fact... :/
I even started a new New Vegas save on the PC a couple of days ago and I already have more hours into that, than Fallout 4.

I finally caved and bought Mega Man legacy collection 1-10 off of Steam. Paid 16.25 CAD. Still the best side scrollers ever. Mario, Belmonts, Sonics and Samus have nothing on the Blue Bomber!!!!

Mega Man is still hard as fuck!!!!

I've been on the Iceborne grind. I've never seen an amazing game have so many insane quality of life changes I did not know I needed. A great game legitimately getting greater. I've switched to an Insect Glaive and it's super fun, especially with the new clutch claw. The new gathering hub is something I'm happy they added so that my friends and I dont have to keep saying "bye" between quests because the stuff we need to use isnt available in the gathering hub. The new monsters are pretty fun, especially love the Glavidus. Though I will say the Tigrex/Barioth/Nargacuga are a bit too similar for my liking, especially since they're all expansion monsters. In any case, I can see myself sinking another 100+ hrs into this one.

    Borderlands 3 this weekend !!!

I just started playing Borderlands 2 for the first time recently. Really enjoying it, it's fun to play and the dialogue is great. Love the art style too.

Also played through What Remains of Edith Finch today. Fantastic, short game but a complete gut punch all the way through. Just want to go watch some videos of kittens now. Very powerful and heavy.

Borderlands 2 is phenomenal. They really hit their stride with the writing and humor and the gameplay is fantastic.

I recommend looking up the various Easter eggs to experience as many as possible. Which you should do pretty organically if you like exploring.

Been playing Super Mario Maker 2. Loving it so far, the level designs are fantastic.

My only critique is local multiplayer is not great. Not co-op story mode and I have to download levels to play co-op. Going to need to find some good co-op levels for me and Mrs Shock.

Despite saying I wouldn't because it looks to similar and we really don't need 3 games of Lara Croft becoming the "Tomb Raider" - I caved and downloaded the 3rd instalment on Game Pass.

It looks visually pretty and I'm excited to give it a go- but I'm already pretty sure the outcome is going to be, old relic, trinity are the bad guys, lost island, protected by a lost tribe =( Hope I'm wrong.

    Re: Currently Playing

I beat Iceborne last weekend and that's basically what I'm exclusively playing. Great game to just chill and play, especially now tha they've added Guiding Lands and its basically an endless quest mode. I'm mostly grinding out gears and trying to clear all the possible optional quests then I'll start slowing down on the game. I've beaten every possible monster at least once besides Leshen/Behemoth and the variants of course. I'd like to make a SnS Mushroomancer support build (the 75% free meal with Tigrex set bonus makes this an even cooler prospect) and a HBG Spread/Tank build at some point.

FE:TH is still my GOTY but Iceborne isnt far behind (even if its just an expansion). I think I'd be more in BL3 if there was less running around and dumb roundabout quest. I just want to shoot shit, get new weapons, shoot shit. Division 2 did that well but the world and weapons and enemies are so bland that I deleted it pretty quickly after maxing out my gear score.

    Re: Currently Playing

So I've barely fired up the console in the past 2 months. I was playing Fallout 4 but that just kinda died off later in the summer. Still have yet to finish the game.

A coworker recommended Subnautica and I ended up grabbing it. Pretty cool game so far. Its basically an underwater survival game where your spaceship crashed on a water planet and you are alone in a life-raft. You gather things, craft gear and food and stuff, find tech plans to build bigger stuff, and can end up building subs and underwater habitats. its visually pretty awesome.

    Re: Currently Playing

Despite a backlog of other games I need to start and finish.. I purchased the remastered Spyro Trilogy over the weekend and started it yesterday.

I never actually played this back in the day so it's completely new to me and after enjoying the Crash Trilogy and completing that with my family, I figured this was another one we could enjoy and play together! So far so good, it's fun!

    Re: Currently Playing

Been putting some hours into Subnautica and quite enjoying it. Its generally low-impact gaming. Nothing too intense, although a few of the creatures have given me a start when they appeared. I had my first save disappear but starting over made for much more efficient underwater living. Reached the point where I have a vehicle (the first one) and can start building an underwater habitat. There are some pretty awesome builds that people have done. That hardest thing right now is picking where to put the first habitat, cuz there are some pretty awesome spots with some unique creatures and environments.

    Re: Currently Playing

Still fucking about underwater in Subnautica. I've managed to build a pretty decent underwater habitat. I haven't filled it in fully yet, and I keep going back and forth between filling it in and adding more modules. The problem is that the bigger you make it, the more you have to account for structural integrity. Which you can increase by building foundation platforms that the modules sit atop of, or by adding in reinforced panels. I don't have the materials to make the reinforcing panels yet, so.... its foundation platforms. But those require lead, which isn't that abundant. I mean, its not rare. But it requires some scavenging. So I've wasted quite a bit of time on that.

I don't know if I've built the habtitat in the ideal spot. Its not too deep, so I can still use solar panels. Its got some decent stuff around it, but not amazing scavenging. One thing I didn't realize when I picked the spot was how the scanner room works. The scanner room.... scans. It allows you to scan for specific materials or other elements, such as wreck pieces, etc. You have 2 camera drones which you can use to navigate to the material, and then go out and grab it. But it can only scan so wide, so now I'm questioning whether the spot picked was ideal. Would I be better off if the habitat had more fertile picking grounds around it? but honestly, I think anywhere on the map is going to have positives and negatives, so I basically decided not to worry on that. At least for now....

I have managed to build the Seamoth, which is a small submersible. Its handy as fuck but I run into everything. It also can't go deeper than 200 meters. I have the plans now to build the Moon Pool, which allows (I think) for customization of the Sea Moth and the building of the exo-suit. that lets you go deeper yet. And there is a large sub you can build - the Cyclops - but I haven't found any plans for it yet. I can only imagine the amount of mats it will take to construct.

Its definitely a game that I will sink way more hours into than I expected. Grinding for mats is always a process. I realize I'm not very far into the storyline at all, and I can only go down to about 200m. The game goes much much deeper than that. I also haven't gone onto the crashed ship yet, which I should probably try to do soon.

Does that make it a good birthday gift or a bad one?

Its probably just Madden 2K with better graphics.

    God I hate EA Sports.

At least the massive glitches they leave in the game will be comical.

Could be a good one. Just waiting on 7gb of updates before I can actually play it.

EA are very iffy so expecting issues but can't win them all huh?
