Lambert is a strange one haha...his Premier League record is a bit err iffy at best. I'd be very surprised if he keeps Stoke up....

Giggs has just been confirmed as Wales manager. No news of his backroom team yet though....I hope he'll keep Roberts and bring Bellamy in..maybe that's being stupidly hopeful though.

Very happy with the appointment of Giggs. Can't wait for him to get started. Very curious to see who he brings in as his backroom staff. I hope Roberts stays on and I think giving Bellamy some experience by having him on the coaching staff will prepare him for any future manager job he may want to take on.

Stoke appointing Lambert is laughable. Whenever he's managed at a high level he's tanked badly. Remember his stint at Villa? the fact that he was their 4th choice to take over says it all. He did win the Champions League as a player at Dortmund though

Most ridiculous decision of the season goes to Watford..sacking Marco Silva.

They are probably a weekend or two away from really being in the relegation battle, and with Watford's trigger happy owners, I certainly saw him leaving at the end of the season. Things haven't been good at that club since the Everton approach and perhaps there's more to it behind the scenes with a breakdown in the chairman-manager relationship.

Stoke should of waited a few more days

They might be in 10th but 11 defeats in 16 games and 4 points off relegation is why he’s been sacked. You could definitely argue his head and heart aren’t in the job since Everton came calling. Watford’s biggest problem is now they are paying 10-15m to Silva to get rid of him rather than the 15m they would have got if they let him join Everton.

Then appointing another manager that has never managed in England.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

Watford are in total freefall. There is always a club that starts well and falls off a cliff and gets dragged into a relegation battle and they were the one this year.

Watford were absolutely right to sack him. Can't have someone whose head isn't in it as your manager, it just doesn't work. And the problem is once Everton came calling, Silva began to see Watford as nothing more than a stepping stone club, so he's not 100% committed or motivated to the club. As someone who supports a team that is seen as a "stepping stone" (or was), I've seen it happen countless times with players. Cabaye, Sissoko - once their head gets turned the performances dwindle, same thing happened with Berahino at WBA I think.

Wonder if this will now prompt Southampton to pull the plug on Pellegrino and hire Silva?

Could happen...Pellegrino hasn't done much of note. Silva will be in demand no doubt.

I'd like Rangers to at least ask the question to Silva.

I imagine he will be massively outwith our budget but I'd like our board to ask the question rather than just assume it.

Let's face it, you'll take Phil Brown and you'll just have to like it.

Southampton and Silva seems like a good paring.

Don't think we can get him the time in the Govan Tan and Spray to lure him here.

If nothing else, I can guarantee you we won't be hiring ex-Celtic defender, and all round worst cunt, Malkay Mackay.

    The hilarity is real.

This was a stupid move by Watford simply because they blocked his move to Everton mere months ago and have now cost themselves millions in the process. Should they have got rid of him? really hard to say. The table looks favorable to them right now because of how tight things are, they could easily be bottom by the first of Feb the way things change, but i do feel it was a rash decision. Should have at least waited another month or so because again things are still very tight, one or two wins and the dynamic changes.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

Harsh decision to sack Silva but Watford were in a bad slump. Watford blaming Everton is hilarious. Watford were punching above their weight in the top half of the table(10th) although just five points above the relegation zone. Some owners just expect far too much. The club is a joke with constant change of managers. They didn't waste time and have appointed a new manager, Javi Gracia. Watford should be safe this season but their new manager will probably get sacked by the end of the year.
