O'Neill is the early fav. Hope he gets a rattle at a Prem job instead of going to Scotland.

    And he scores goals...!

Ryan Giggs scored a free kick against West Brom in 2005. He's more than qualified for the job.

Today is a good day, feels like the club are in remission. It's pleasing to see people looking at our situation more in depth realizing what a stinker of a year he's had for us and that this is the right decision. Pulis was the perfect man for us 3 years ago, but everything went horribly stale in 2017. He killed my enjoyment for football, going to the Hawthorns this year has been a tedious chore. Hopefully whoever comes in can bring some positivity back.

I also bet Coleman is kicking himself now but yeah Pulis has a solid 2/3 seasons that something went wrong to cause this current predicament. He'll be back in a job soon enough...if he wants another one that is.

I see the Northern Ireland manager has taking the Scotland role too ain't he? Another one that could have arguably got a better job. Done an amazing job with even more limitations then Coleman had with Wales.

I too feel the Welsh FA will turn to Giggs but I don't think it will go down well with the majority. His role with Thailand is part time and limited to a couple of appearances a year from what I know, Tommy. Couple of my mates want to see Bellamy given the chance as manager.

Still no sign of Everton appointing someone soon is there? I see Simeone ruled himself out of the job... Yeah because that was going to happen Haha!
Ah is it? Then he could easily do both jobs. What about a team of Giggs and Bellamy as his assistant? That could be a good formula. Not too sure why a lot don't seem to want Giggs. No, he doesn't have experience but he'd be someone that would have a good rapport with the players and he showed in his 2 games at United the style of football he wants to play, which is in line with the style that Coleman has implemented.
Just anyone but Pullis, please. But given his sacking by West Brom then his odds have shortened for sure.

Coleman must be a bit disappointed that he didn't wait a bit longer to take a job as he'd have been a great fit for West Brom and it would have been a much safer bet for his career than going to Sunderland. I think Big Sam is the best option for them now. They have an ok squad, nobody that stands out as a top player (other than Krychowiak) but as a team they shouldn't be getting relegated and I think if Allerdyce comes in he can add a couple of names in January and keep them up no problem.

I do wonder who Everton are going to get in. There aren't many options out there and I'm wondering if they would have been better off sticking with Koeman just a little longer to be honest. Thomas Tuchel is available, he could be a suitable man to come in?

Breaking News! WBA sign Tony Pulis to help them during relegation battle!

Big Sam to WBA, always the same few managers names that float around teams in these positions. Not sure Albion fans would want him but it could be worse, could be McClaren.

Coleman going to Sunderland is a complete puzzler, going from a team where they all loved him and wanted to play well for him to a team that seems to be full apathetic no hopers with no drive left could be a huge system shock for him.

Everton still being managerless after more than a month is a bit of a head scratcher but who is available for them?

Yeah that could be a pretty good formula, I agree.

I think the dislike for Giggs is because he was seen as always putting his club before his country, I guess.

Big Sam I think could keep anyone up. I really think Everton should have gone for him. Apparently they only wanted to give him a role to the end of the season which is basically saying keep us up and then we will get someone more glamorous next season Haha! Tuchel could be an option, yeah. Starting to run out of names, not too may managerial options out there at the moment really.

Giggs is the best guy. The guy had two wins and a draw. That's world class management.

World Class? So why wasn't he given the United job ahead of Mourinho. Giggs is one of those guys that is praised by association of his playing career. I love Gianfranco Zola but he was never the greatest manager. There's a reason clubs aren't throwing themselves at Ryan Giggs... because 1) he probably thinks he's better than them and 2) he won't cut it.

Pretty sure MC was being sarcastic. Also nobody knows how well he will do. Sure he could be a complete failure but he could also be as good as Pep Guardiola. At this point we're all just guessing.

I was being sarcastic actually. Giggs really should go to the lower leagues and stop waiting for the big clusb to give him a job.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

I have always found the media campaigning for Ryan Giggs to be a bit.... odd. I mean, he was a great player but as already pointed out, great players do not necessarily make managers. He doesn't seem intrigued by situations that are going to be tough. He doesn't seem interested at all in doing a standard manager progression process. What other world class players went into management directly into the big clubs? Zidane, van Basten, Guardiola, Frank Rijkaard (sorta), Antonio Conte.... they all went through some form of managing before they were at a big club. But Giggs is different... why?

I don't listen to most UK footy punditry directly, but rather indirectly thru podcasts and such. But it seems like the UK media still bitches about "foreign" managers blocking jobs for UK managers. But its old British managers that are taking half of the jobs that come up in the Prem, not "foreign" managers. But I guess one wouldn't want things like facts to get in the way of making a pseudo-xenophobic point.

When Dortmund loses against rival Schalke this Saturday, Bosz is done. I'm not sure who they could get for the job though...interesting weeks are upon us.

Also I heard a rumor that Everton could be interested in bringing in Ralf Rangnick (at the moment sporting director at Leipzig). Very unlikely, but interesting nonetheless.
