I think its a similar case to Steve McLaren, building his reputation back up on foreign soil(when he may not be considered as a failure as much) before coming back to this country.

Hmm McLaren is such an enigma as a manager. I actually rate him as a coach but when, for example, you take a look at his record on the continent one title in Holland but sacked twice.

McLaren is doing great things at Derby, narrowly missed out on promotion last season and look a good bet to be challenging at the top again.

    Good luck to Moyesy.

Uwe Rosler's been sacked by Wigan after a shit start to the season.

Not a manager, but Roy Keane has left Aston Villa. He couldn't handle the mediocrity any longer.

This better not mean he returns to ITV as a pundit...

Why? Because he was a United legend who slated United?

He was one of the better pundits on TV and much better than whatever else ITV have got.

He's not Robbie Savage bad, but I don't rate him as a pundit at all. Tries too hard to live up to his image in lieu of actual good punditry.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

Robbie Savage is a master-baiter of TV punditry, he intentionally has controversial opinions and wild exaggerations just to spark debates with people and make his voice heard over other 'safer' pundits. He's footballs Katie Hopkins. With him there's no 'poor tackles', there's 'disgraceful, criminal, should be banned for 10 games because it's a career ending tackle'. Also, whatever combination of pundits the BBC goes with, he's always the footballer who achieved the least in his career, he's just got by on his reputation of being am outspoken dickhead rather than his football ability and achievements.

Keano's a bit of a bore and tries to hard to live up to his reputation.

MOTD's best is Danny Murphy, SkySports' best is Gary Neville, and ITV's, by virtue of picking the lesser evil, is Lee Dixon.

Danny Murphy is one of the best pundits around.

In terms of entertainment, Keanes good, but if you want actual analysis, he's bottom tier

Ally McCoist has offered his resignation, it will be interesting to hear Marshall's view on this.

Probably happy that McCoist has decided to walk away as he is a bit of a crap manager imo. That said, his timing is dumb and hes always going to be a club legend regardless.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

    Ugh...right.

My understanding is Ally McCoist has offered his resignation now the board have a decision to make wether to accept it with immediate effect, reject it, or accept it and then, because of the terms of McCoist's contract, work his 12 month notice period up to 12/12/2015.

Just another day of fun and games at Rangers and we've got a game in an hour that McCoist will be in charge with.

As fans we are in a no win situation here, with McCoist leaving there are people with the fear now that we have no real Rangers men at the club and the utter fucking robbing scumbag ***** running the club will now be left to run amok with no dissenting voices. However, Ally McCoist is and will never be a football manager. We're 9 points behind Hearts and just got knocked out the challenge cup by Alloa. If McCoist isn't replaced then I really don't think we will gain promotion this year. And at the same time, I'm not confident in the scumbags ability to pick a decent replacement.

McCoist needs to go but the whole thing is just a fucking mess, the whole club needs cleansed from top to bottom.

Steve Clarke has got the Reading job, hopefully it works out for him, I still feel he was harshly treated at West Brom.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

I'm glad someone else has given him a punt because he's a nice guy, he's been in the frame for a lot of jobs but never gets them, perhaps they have the same concerns WBA ultimately had. I liked him, but his form in 2013 as a whole was disastrous, and once he started putting his stamp onto Roy's team, it went downhill.

    Re: Managerial Comings & Goings

On the Rangers/McCoist front, as of now the resignation has been accepted and McCoist is working his 12 month notice period.

There is a meeting tomorrow scheduled between the board and McCoist so we might get a more immediate action.
