    Mood From The Camp:

Since the arrival of Manager Alex Millar at the start of the 2008-09 season, Brentford F.C. have been on the up, getting promoted in two successive seasons and even shocking most critics with an F.A. Cup reign and good stint in the UEFA Cup. WF.com was fortunate to get a quote from Glenn Poole the only member of the Brentford squad to have been a part of the team prior to Millar's arrival.

"I'm not going to lie, the gaffer must be commended for everything he has done for this club. With a low budget he has managed to bring vital players for cheap prices, along with our spell in Europe which was able to attract the younger players of the future like Jack Rodwell and Aaron Ramsey as well as Fabianski who were acquired during last season's winter transfer window and really aided us in becoming League 1 champions. Something we managed to achieve on the last day of the season. Of course I am saddened by my former team mates to no longer be at this club, but in the Championship only the best can survive. I might be a fringe player at the current moment in time, but I remain a fan favorite hence why the gaffer has recently made me club captain (not in-game captain). One thing I know for certain, if we continue to progress as we our I can see us reaching the Premiership within the next three years and I sure hope I am around when we make that promotion push."

    January Transfer Window:

With the half the season done, it is clear that despite a beating Boro the team from the North-East looks certain to win the Championship and gain promotion into the Premiership. With Brentford progressing nicely, Mr. Millar has decided that only a few tactical moves have to be made in the winter transfer window as follows:

    Eric Ihemelu (Sold to Leeds)
Mark Phillips (Loan to Ipswich Town)
    Glenn Poole (Loan to Leeds)
    Barry Salinas (Sold to Watford)

As well as the sale of two players, the loaning of two others Mr. Millar also saw fit to bring in to new strikers into the fold:

Kenwyne Jones (5.4million pounds sterling) from Sunderland
    Gonzalo Higuain
(5.9million pounds sterling) from Real Madrid

With all this business done, WF.com managed to get a quote from Mr. Millar himself:

"I must admit that I this club has always meant a lot to me, considering they were my team as a child so I put my heart and soul into all the decisions I make in regard to the club. I think are back to back promotions into this league has shown the passion we hold as a football club. I believe with my recent signing of both Jones and Higuian I will finally have the strength up-front that is required in this league. Although, the board have reminded me that promotion is not expected of us this season I still see it highly viable for us to reach the playoffs."

    Latest News:

Brentford F.C. are happy to announce that Djimi Traore has signed for a further two years with the club despite earlier speculation that he might seek opportunities next year at a higher level. Despite the Bees back for being stacked it is clear that Mr. Millar has a large concern with his defense hence the six month loan signing of Ludovic Magnin in the winter window. It seems that despite Lamine Kone and Adam Newton being on the bench, Mr. Millar has his eyes on a former player. Current rumors are that former loanee Souleymane Diawara may me signed from Bordeaux on a permanent deal this summer depending on how the club performs this season.
