WWE NXT What Would You Change on NXT?

We're in the 4th week (I think), so everyone has the jist of the show. Everyone had thoughts before the show on how it would work. My question is, now that you've seen how it's done, would you still want your view before the show to be done? Or would you keep it the way it is, or keep it relativity the same but tweak it a little?

I for one would like it to be a bit more reality based. I wouldn't want a rip off of The Ultimate Fighter, but something along those lines. I don't quite know how I'd handle eliminations, but from what I gather, they're doing it perfectly, having the pros vote, etc.

So far I like the way things have gone. It has been a great mix of pros and rookies, the way it should be.

Really into it so far. But I feel some of the rookies are just dead weight. But you need that for the concept I guess. Im really liking it, especially the Jericho pairing with Wade Berret? Whatever his name is, really strong team there. Im high on Gabriel, before he inevitably gets the Bourne treatment. The Miz Dinelson thing has been great too. All good on my end, bar Regals Rookie, and that dance Christians does, and the fact he cant get over.

Wait, the pros decide who goes?

That seems pretty stupid to me. I know most fans will probably vote Bryan to win the whole thing, but surely the ultimate test of who makes it to Raw or SD should be down to the audience, and not the bookers?

Nah I think I prefer the pros choosing who wins.

But like Deuce, I'd make a few changes despite loving it. I'd have them explain the rules a little better, such as why Miz can choose people for Daniel to face. I'd also have more video packages/real segments of them to really put them over as characters. But for the most part I'm loving what I'm seeing.

    Spoiler:

I solemnly swear I am up to no good

Agreed, I don't know why they didn't explain what's happening in the first episode. Seems like kind of a thing you'd tell the viewers so they'd know what's going down. As for the Miz thing, I think it's kind of a thing like "Hey the audience wont question the reasoning, just do it"

Yeah, which is fine and true, but I still don't like it. Even a weak explanation would work.

But I still really love it. Just want more character development.

The theme song. That's about it, really. Change the incredibly lame theme song.

I like everything they've done so far but I'd like more backstage stuff with the talent like when Christian and Slater were talking while working out. They need to show the pros doing more to help the rookies get over.

The theme song is kind of weak against the feel of the show.

Re: What Would You Change on NXT?

Then the whole concept makes fuck all sense to me.

They're pushing the concept of 8 rookies trying to earn a place on the WWE roster. And creative effectively decide who gets in, and who doesn't.

So a guy like Skip Sheffield for example, who isn't getting pushed as hard as say, Daniel Bryan, will more than likely go earlier, because booking has effectively set him up to fail. Great, talk about not being given a fighting chance. Whoever goes first is basically screwed for the rest of their career IMO.

Here's what I'd change. If they're going for the "reality TV" style of programming, do that, and not this immitation.

Re: What Would You Change on NXT?

They already know who they want to make it.. this show gives everyone a chance to be on tv and gain experience but I'd wager that WWE already knew who they wanted to call up to the main rosters well before this show debuted. Now.. if someone were to impress them along the way then maybe they'd make some changes.

It's good as it is but I agree that they need to add more interview segments and packages. I'm of Otunga telling me to Google him; it's annoying.
    Nothings better than simplicity.

It's not a very good idea, I'll be very surprised if this show still exists this time nxt year.

I don't know about that. ECW lasted pretty long and it wasn't pulling the greatest numbers. If they do seasons and switch up the pros around, and maybe mess with the format a bit, I think it could last for quite awhile.

Probably would've replaced Carlito with MVP. That way the heel and face pros are even.

Nothing stands out as "needs to be changed" with NXT. The idea isn't flawless. But it's perfectly fine for now.

When the idea first came out I thought it was an ECW under another name. But this is still good.

Re: What Would You Change on NXT?

What they're trying to do works, no ones going to like all of the rookies but that's to be expected, I only really like Daniel Bryan and Wade Barrett, and don't mind Otunga and Tarver, other than that I don't think much of the other rookies. The concept I'd say doesn't need tweaking.
