Re: FA Cup 4th Round Discussion

I might keep my FA Cup interest alive by going to watch Cardiff tomorrow - if they've got a deal on with all tickets being £20 then I will probably go down. Otherwise I will travel to Llandovery (not the greatest of places) to watch my rugby team play.

Apart from the Spurs vs. Leeds game, there aren't any stand out games again in this round.

A draw then a slightly embarrassing loss in the reply is my prediction.

Re: FA Cup 4th Round Discussion

I went to watch Cardiff/Leicester, which was a good cup tie. It's amazing how a little added time changes everything.

Cardiff pretty much bossed the first quarter and deserved the lead when Jay Bothroyd scored after 15mins. After that Cardiff let Leicester back into the game, and conceded two sloppy goals. The defending for both were shocking.

Burke came on with half an hour left and injected some urgency into the team and soon after Cardiff started to create chances and boss the game again. Whittingham equalised with a cracking free kick from near the touchline – well worth a watch on the highlights program tonight.

I have to admit, I thought the game was going to end in a draw, I didn’t think Cardiff were going to create any more clear chances, but then in the 90th min the ball fell to Burke in the penalty area and he just put his foot through it for the winning goal, and the place went mad. Straight from the restart Cardiff attacked Leicester again, Chopra went pretty much unchallenged into the box and then pulled the ball back to McCormack slotted in his first of the season to make it 4-2. I must be some sort of good luck charm for McCormack – it was his first goal of the season, and my first City game of the season. He always seems to score when I go and watch Cardiff play.

So now Utd, Liverpool & Arsenal are out of the cup, gives the rest of the teams a great chance of winning it this year.
