    Fifa World Sixes 09

    FIFA World Sixes 09

The date is the 31st May 2009 and the football season has finally come an end, and yet the football community is yearning for something more. With the knowledge that there won't be a world cup still 2010, and there are still three months till the season starts again a sudden realisation is made is that in fact there is very much a gap in the market. A market that is always demanding more.

Although nothing to major can be put together, football geniuses around the world (not including Michael Platini) come up with a simple solution to this little problem. The ideas is a six-a-side football league featuring the greatest footballers from around the globe. The rules are simple.

    - Ten Teams
    - Each team is given one week to sign themselves a manage
    - A draft then takes place, with the order decided by how the managers are seeded
    - Teams must draft seven players (one being a substitute)
    - After each team has played each other, the top four team in the league will go through into a playoff system

In the interest of fairness, and maintaining the idea that football is a world sport ten major cities are selected to play host to one of the team. After a lot of discussions, the ten teams to take part in the FIFA World Sixes are:

    Location: Madrid, Spain
    Head Coach: N/A
    Team: N/A

    Location: Tokyo, Japan
    Head Coach: Stuart Pearce
    Assistant: Italo Galbiati
    Team: N/A

    Location: Aberdeen, Scotland
    Head Coach: N/A
    Team: N/A

    Location: Sydney, Australia
    Head Coach: Dino Zoff
    Assistant: Robert Di Matteo
    Team: N/A

    Location: Los Angeles, USA
    Head Coach: N/A
    Team: N/A

    Location: Napoli, Italy
    Head Coach: N/A
    Team: N/A

    Location: London, England
    Head Coach: N/A
    Team: N/A

    Location: St. Petersburg, Russia
    Head Coach: Tony Adams
    Assistant: Martin Keown
    Team: N/A

    Location: Brasilia, Brazil
    Head Coach:
    N/A
    Team: N/A

    Location: Vittoria, South Africa
