    Notes:
    - I wont be using exact positions (LB, RW etc.), but will instead be using only Goalkeeper, Centre Back, Wing Back, Central Mid (Includes DM), Attacking Mid & Striker.
    - Some things may be off as I am using Football Manager 2009 rather than making up results which I would obviouslly end the season with 114 Points, and well, thats no fun.

It was my idea to try it here as it's the most likely place for people who view BTB's to see it. I'm sure if it takes off it will be moved elsewhere but right now it's not worth a new forum.

I agree about it being odd being in the wrestling sections but can understand the reasoning behind it and tbh I find this interesting.

    I'll be reading.

    July 3rd 2009
    Arsenal Announce Pre-Season Schedule

    Friday, July 10th 2009
    Shamrock Rovers (A)

Arsenal begin their pre-season preparations with a mini tour of Ireland. The tour will only feature three matches all against teams located in Dublin. The first match will take place against 2nd placed Shamrock Rovers. Rovers have had much success in Ireland over the years but were relegated only a few seasons ago. After earning promotion back to the top flight, Rovers have once again proved themselves as one of the top sides in the country by retaking their place in challenging for the title.

    Sunday, July 12th 2009
    Crumlin United (A)

Arsenal will then make the short trip to semi-professional side Crumlin United. Unlike the previous friendly, United do not have a long history of success and this will be by far and away, their biggest match in their history.

    Tuesday, July 14th 2009
    Bohemians (A)

The tour of Ireland wraps up with a visit to league leaders Bohemians. Boh’s were for the longest time considered the second best team in Dublin behind Shelbourne, but with the implosion of Shels a few seasons ago Boh’s have taken the top spot and their fierce rivals Rovers are not happy with it and are pushing them all the way. Boh’s did have a strong run in the Champions League Qualifying this season but fell in the Third Qualifying Round. Boh’s are arguably, the best positioned to pull off an upset.

    Sunday, July 19th 2009
    Hearts (A)

With the tour of Ireland finished, Arsenal will head North to Scotland for a second three match tour that begins against SPL side Hearts. Hearts have often been the most likely to break the Old Firm dominance in the SPL so this wont be a walk in the park for the Gunners.

    Wednesday, July 22nd 2009
    Queen of the South (A)

On paper it looks like a one sided victory for Arsenal, but with the Gunners likely to field a weakened side as the players are eased back into competitive football, Queen of the South are looking to pull out a famous victory over their much more established visitors.

    Saturday, July 25th 2009
    Inverness CT (A)

Inverness are another side that a full strength Arsenal side would be expected to make light work of but with the prospect of a less than 100% side being fielded, Inverness should fancy their chances, especially if Arsenal don’t show the respect Inverness deserve.

    Saturday, August 1st 2009
    Barnet (A)

Arsenal will finally get to face some English opposition as they continue the traditional pre-season friendly match against Barnet. More often than not Arsenal come out on top but every once in a while Barnet spring a shock and grab a draw against the Premier League opposition.

    Wednesday, August 5th 2009
    Sporting CP (A)

Arsenal travel to Portugal to finish as they face the toughest test of their pre-season against Sporting. Sporting are one of the top sides in Portugal so this friendly is not going to be easy for either side as both will be playing for fitness as well as bragging rights in what has developed into a friendly rivalry in the past few seasons.

    William Gallas Injured.

A bad start for the Pre-Season preparations of Arsenal as Centre Back William Gallas twisted his knee in training and will likely miss both pre-season tours as he recovers. Gallas will join Vieira, Fabregas, Diaby, Rosicky and Eduardo in the treatment room as they all struggle to be fit enough to play.

    Wenger in for Asenjo?

19 Year old Spanish Goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo appears to have popped up on Arsene Wenger’s radar recently. Reports from Spain suggest that Wenger has made contact and has even tabled an offer for the Valladolid shot-stopper. It is believed that Asenjo would command a fee in excess of £5 million.

Arsene Wenger appears to have lost confidence in Lukasz Fabianski to provide competition for Manuel Almunia after a string of mistakes last season. Vito Mannone meanwhile has yet to experience more than 90 minutes of Premier League football.

Arsenal almost suffered humiliation in the first game of the new season as they limped to a 1-1 draw with Shamrock Rovers. Rovers took a deserved lead in the ‘55 Minute when Gary O’Conner smashed home from the edge of the area to leave Almunia with no chance. Samir Nasri saved Arsenal with a brilliant solo goal with less than 15 minutes to spare. Nasri beat three opponents before placing the ball between the legs of Man of the Match Sean Curran to level the scores. Jay Simpson almost stole the victory in injury time but his attempt hit the cross bar. It would have been an unfair result as Rovers did not deserve to lose.

    Haha Great.^

@ God personally I think Viera would be a silly signing because all your fans would expect to be as good as he was in his prime and he wouldn't, I think injuries have took a lot out of him. Also why sign Kalou? You have Arshavin, Nasri, Walcott and Wilshere for out wide, Kalou's been garbage for Chelsea and a shadow of the player he was in Holland. You need a Adebayor replacement tbh. I also plan to follow this to see where you go with it but I'd get going with the friendlies as the season has started .

I dont plan on playing 4-4-2, my formations will switch between a 4-3-3 and a 4-3-2-1. Kalou wont be played out wide as I play through the middle so he'll be more of a central player who drifts out than a traditional wide player. Vieria is in to add expierance and depth to the squad. He wont be an automatic starter like he used to be.

    Sergio Asenjo joins Arsenal.

The 19 year old Valladolid ‘keeper has today signed a three year contract with English side Arsenal. The fee is believed to be in the region of £7 million. Asenjo stated after signing that he was thrilled a club the size of Arsenal have decided to give him such an opportunity at such a young age. Asenjo also stated that he had several offers on the table but as soon as he received the Arsenal offer, his mind was made up. Asenjo will wear the number 28 shirt this season as he challenges Manuel Almunia for the starting role.

Arsenal got back on track with a comfortable 2-0 victory in Dublin over minnows Crumlin United. Having gotten it so wrong against Shamrock Rovers, Arsenal were determined to get the right result today and they did without ever leaving second gear. Samir Nasri opened the scoring in the eleventh minute from a Kieran Gibbs corner kick. Nasri controlled the ball with his chest at the far post before firing home with his right foot. Arsenal took their foot off the gas and almost allowed Crumlin back into it when Johan Djourou fell asleep at the back but Des Keane was unable to beat new signing Sergio Asenjo. This served as a wake up call for Arsenal who scored a second less than sixty seconds later. Vermaelen collected the ball from Asenjo before releasing Carlos Vela who stormed down the wing at blistering pace leaving his opponents for dead. Vela reached the opposition box and crossed for Aaron Ramsey to head home from eight yards out. Robin van Persie had a late free kick blocked by the wall.

As the Arsenal line up slowly becomes more and more recognizable, the performances slowly improve. Despite the narrow score line today, Arsenal were never in danger of throwing it away, unlike in the two previous matches. Nikolas Bendtner made his first start for the season and marked it with a superb half volley just before half time. Bohemians had with stood the Arsenal on slough and looked like making it to half time at 0-0 but the Bendtner sucker punch threw Bohemians off their game and ensured they were not going to get anything from the match. Johan Djourou and Salomon Kalou both went off injured in the first 30 minutes as Bohemians tried to bully Arsenal early on. Nikolas Bendtner also picked up a yellow card.

It wasent me, it was all Football Manager. City are after buying even more players (Which will be posted soon) and Spurs are after continuing their annual tradition of paying way over the odds for a player. The only transfers I have control over are Arsenal.
