One I've been waiting for, but a toughie. Dragon may have had a better career overall and be more likely to succeed at the big time, but Nigel has been at his best since he won the title and has also been consistently putting on great matches. They've both had two of the best title runs in ROH, lengthy, and both shortened by injuries. These two are undeniably the best ROH has to offer at the moment.

I'm sticking to Dragon because of his overall career, but I do think Nigel may have had better matches last year.

I love Nigel, but I think las year proved he isn't capable of mixing it as much as Danielson is or as good at working long matches, or carrying matches as Danielson is.

Maybe so. He certainly didn't get his usual quality matches with Pearce, Ruckus, Jacobs and Necro, but I think the rest of the time he had matches of very high quality even in ones where he wasn't defending the belt. He had some great tags with Go and Claudio too. Nevertheless, if you remove Dragon's title shots, there's still a large amount of 4*+ matches from the beginning of his title run, up to now.

    You spelled Nigel's name wrong, two 'N's buddy...two 'N's. :>_>:

Nigel's title reign really did a lot to change my opinion of him. Before the title win, I really thought he was hit or miss. However, he showed that he was capable of being in one of the better matches every night and even rack in a few MOTYC defenses. Nigel truly etched in stone the fact that he's one of the best ROH has to offer.

However, when looking at the career of Nigel, how many of his best matches involved Danielson? While some of Danielson's best matches came against Nigel, he still has the Joe, Aries, Homicide, Low-Ki and Morishima matches to fall back on.

As good as Nigel is, he just isn't that good.

Pretty sure Benoit is long past being a current wrestler.

Technically, Steamboat is going to be an active wrestler for a few minutes tonight...

    Just saying. :>_>:

I don't know who to vote for in this one. They're both amazing in ROH. I do have a soft spot for McGuinness though as he's had some very memorable 1PW matches.

Re: Bryan Danielson vs The World: Nigel McGuiness

As much as I love Nigel (He's even been on Over The Ropes before) the simple case of looking at it by a match by match comparison, Nigel really hand't blossomed into being one of the best wrestlers and proven that Nigel could carry a company on his own till he beat Morishima for the Title in 2007. Danielson on constant occasions could mix it up with people like KENTA, Aries, Homicide, Joe among others where as by the end of last year the match Nigel had worked was becoming like clockwork where as with Danielson he could always change it up. But to me, Nigel is still with that title reign of his that ended this past weekend, Nigel helped raise the profile of Ring of Honor with his reign and his gimmick. Nothing should be taken away but due to the experiences that Danielson has had over McGuinness.

I actually had to think about this one, but when I look at overall body of work, Danielson clearly wins.
