    Limp Bizkit reunite

After 5 years of being free of douchebag Fred Durst…..

    He's back!

The craptastic nu-metal outfit Limp Bizkit are set to reunite this year, with a new album in the works and a world tour scheduled for the spring.

Are we supposed to be excited???

Grandpa Durst has been blabbing that the group's comeback is because the band is "disgusted and bored with modern music."

Planning on "saving" music in 2009, Limp Bizkit??

    Not likely.

Still would be fun to hear some of their old hits. I never liked them enough to listen to them, but if that song what was it Nookie came on or whatever I didn't mind it.

They broken up and came back like 5 times. The only person with musical talent in the band is/was Wes Borland. He proved that with Black Light Burns.

    Re: Limp Bizkit reunite

Wes Borland is in Manson? Damn..... I absolutely LOVED his guitar skills. I thought he was literally the reason why Limp Bizkit was any good in the first place.

Also, I'm sorry, but 3 Dollar Bill Yall is still one of the best metal albums ever. But after that everything they did after that was 90% garbage. Anything without Wes was downright awful.

I actually had no idea that they had been broken up for 5 years.......I didn't even know they were broken up. haha

This actually prompted me to look at that pic, then proceed to the term "Nu Metal". I had no idea that the "heavy metal" I thought I was listening to all throughout the 90's was actually considered "Nu Metal"

So I guess from now on when people ask what I used to listen to I say Nu Metal? That just sounds stupid......

Oh Limp Bizkit, how ashamed I am that went through a phase of liking you. Then I heard Rollin', and realized, good lord, he just rhymed here, with here, you just can't do that.

He does have a point though, modern music is pretty bleh. Although I have a feeling that he somewhat saw the reception that Blink 182 is getting on their "reunion" and hopes that everyone will feel the same about Limp returning. Except people(With the exception of the music God, Tommy Red) liked Blink 182 for more than one year haha.

    Re: Limp Bizkit reunite

Limp Bizkit did an EP "The Unquestionable Truth" when they first reunited. Wes Borland was back on guitar for that and recorded several songs on the EP. Then they just stopped doing it so Borland went and concentrated on his side project. Durst saw this as a sign of him not taking it serious or whatever and kicked Borland out of Limp Bizkit...again. I just hope Durst isn't a dick and realizes one of the best things about Limp Bizkit was Wes Borland alone.

On February 11, 2009, Durst posted on his Twitter account the message "1am pacific time- limpbizkit.com tonight". The site was up and running for the first time in years and confirmed the return of Wes. Through a blog post on the homepage, Fred Durst and Wes Borland issued a joint statement:

"We decided we were more disgusted and bored with the state of heavy popular music than we were with each other. Regardless of where our separate paths have taken us, we recognize there is a powerful and unique energy with this particular group of people we have not found anywhere else. This is why Limp Bizkit is back."

The band also added that a worldwide tour and new album is currently in the works. Limp Bizkit have now been confirmed for the Download Festival taking place in the UK at Donington Park on the 12-14 June as well as the simultaneous German festivals Rock am Ring and Rock im Park.

    Re: Limp Bizkit reunite

Nu metal is a hard rock genre that emerged in the mid 1990s which fuses influences from grunge[1] and alternative metal with funk music, hip hop, punk and various heavy metal genres,[2] such as groove metal, thrash metal and industrial metal.

Nu metal music emphasizes mood, rhythm, and texture over melody. Often, nu metal songs use rhythmic, syncopated riffs played on distorted electric guitars with strings detuned to lower pitches to create a dark and thick sound.

Starting sometime in the 2000's, punk hardcore enthusiasts began calling this genre of music 'Butt Rock.' These people were fed up with having their music confused with and being put into the same genre as bands that they believed, for the most part, to have little to no talent.
    There you go.

All that kinda stuff. Short lived craze around 2000. Some say Slipknot and Korn were part of it too.

How are Disturbed still big? lol

Wouldn't really say Disturbed are "big" these days. They have their fans but that's about it.

Will be interesting to see what Durst and co produce now. I'm guessing it'll be more mature and life-weary, could be good.
