    *Results* Raw: Jan-26-09

Tonight’s show starts off with a look back at last night’s Royal Rumble video package that featured the incident between Randy Orton and the McMahon family. In case you missed it on Monday when it happened live, on Tuesday when it was shown again, on Friday when shown even more, and on Sunday when it got more screen time than The Brian Kendrick.

We are live from Cleveland, Ohio and your announcers are Michael ‘Mistake by the Mic’ Cole and Jerry ‘How far are we from Cheeques’ Lawler.

Randy Orton comes to the ring with the right to point at the Wrestlemania 25 sign. He is joined by the rest of the Legacy, Cody Rhodes and Ted DiBiase. Randy has his phalanx of attorneys. Randy has the mic and he pulls a Dolph Ziggler and introduces himself to the crowd. He introduces his lawyers and therapist. Randy also introduces the other two members of Legacy. Randy says that he is out here is to discuss what happened last week on Raw. Randy says that he is a third generation superstar and the WWE is in his blood. It is a part of him. Unfortunately, something else is a part of him. That thing is something that he has been living with for a long time. Randy says that it is ‘I.E.D’ Intermittent Explosive Disorder. It affects sixteen million people and is a mental condition and when provoked, it leads to outbursts of physical violence. When he was slapped by Stephanie and had his job threatened by Vince McMahon, he was sufficiently provoked. Randy mentions his face on Monday night and he says that he is not responsible for his actions. His therapist can confirm that the WWE was aware of the condition and did nothing about it. If Stephanie chooses to fire him, he will sue Stephanie and World Wrestling Entertainment.

That is the first lawsuit. Randy says that there is a second one. Last night he won the 2009 Royal Rumble. He proved that he is more superior than everyone in this company. That is why he will sue for breach of contract if he does not get what he is legally entitled to and that is to be in the main event at Wrestlemania. He tells Stephanie if she fires him, she will face two separate lawsuits and they will lose Ted DiBiase and Cody Rhodes because they will walk when he is fired. With the three of them gone, when it comes to superstars on Raw, there will virtually be none left.

Randy says that he has one more piece of business to attend to. Randy has a written statement handed to him. He apologizes for the trauma that befell Mr. McMahon last week. He apologizes for the trauma that his family is suffering. Randy says that as the father of a newborn, he can feel the same things that the McMahons are feeling. He hopes that they can put things behind them. Randy says that he is a man of honor and he offers his sincerest apologies to Mr. McMahon, his family, and to everyone else.

We see Stephanie in the office and she does not look happy. We go to commercial.

Its not really unbelievable. Look at it this way, Orton has an excuse, what excuse do Ted Jr. and Cody have for assaulting, what is in a sense their boss? Its very unbelievable that they were torn between helping Orton and getting fired for their actions. Thus Shane could have had the advantage on them.

They were half assed attacking him really. Your telling me the best they could come up with were a few hooks to the body and right hands with the velocity of a jab? I think not! For the most part they were grabbing him and holding him.

I agree completly.. how shitty does Orton look now? Fat almost 40 non-wrestler Shane'O'Mac beats down the hottest heel who was involved in the hottest segment, winner of the Royal Rumble, probable Mania headliner Randy O? What the shit? The whole show, even that last segment was gold in my opinion, Orton begging Stephanie to fire him? Orton opening the show with his lawyers, the I.E.D. explanation.. brilliant, original. To end that show with fucking Shane running a beatdown on three of Raw's top heels?

And honestly.. Stephanie's big "we have bigger plans for you, I'm not going to fire you".. is tubby dad of two, looks more like his old lady mother every time I see him Shane pulling a Bruce Banner?

    Gay..
Me = going to WrestleMania 25, The HOF and ROH's next PPV, what what?

Great show until Shane showed up and was on par with the no 1 contender for the World title, I agree with all the abouve that its just ridiculous for a non active member to take on the legacy in similar fashion that Hunter did just 24 hours prior, it's making the Legacy look like a complete joke
*Edit* Why in the world is Kofi in the chamber? He is nowhere near main event worthy, sure he can do some hugh spots with rey perhaps but to go over Kane in that fashion? Leave it to the E to make Kane their ultimate Jobbing Bitch once again

Pretty Good show last night. But the ending was kinda stupid. I Like Shane but there is no way he could of beaten up all three guys at once. Plus his shots on Randy looked weak as hell and Orton was realy overselling them. Plus why was everyone else just standing on the Stage?

Also I was surprised when Kofi won his match. As soon as Kane walked out i said "Kane's gonna win this for sure" Don't think Kofi is ready for a main event spot just yet. His spot should of gone to Punk Or Kane tbh.

Considering Shane has managed to hang with guys like Show, Taker and Kane in the past, I don't see the problem with him beating up a chickenshit heel, it's not as if the brawl looked unrealistic or anything and I thought the whole finishing segment came across very well. It was great when the entire lockerroom came out at the ramp to stare Orton down.

Steve has the most valid points, Shane has been in wars with the monsters of the company in last man standing and even ambulance matches, I really don't see how it is farfetched at all...

Yeah, and it's not like Shane was actually "wrestling". It was a straight up brawl, with Shane throwing jabs and punches. The Legacy weren't expecting it, as Shane just randomly came out.

I knew someone would say that.. and I think it's better to take a 'wait and see' approach before saying something like that..

To me, it came off as a setup. If not, I'd agree that it's wack for a non-wrestler to take the heat off your biggest draw.. stupid, stupid.. writing..if Shane isn't in on it.

    But wait and see.

I doubt Shane is in on it, they will most likely have a match at NWO where Orton goes over setting him up for WM.

Then, if they don't do that, then they are dumb for taking the heat off Orton now.

    Re: *Results* Raw: Jan-26-09

I'm not buying it. Orton takes a hell of a lot more in a beating every time he wrestles and yet.. he basically runs away from Shane and his Legacy members do little to help?

It doesn't make sense. The only logical explanation is them trying to fool the lockeroom and Steph into believing they have Orton by the balls..

Or Shane is superman and Orton had to sell his weak looking punches.

I will actually buy a hat with the sole purpose of eating it if Shane is in on it, that's how much I doubt that will happen.

If Shane isn't in on it, they killed all the momentum Legacy and Orton had.. Shane is a non-wrestler. He never hung in there with Kane.. It was a street fight where anything goes..

It's hard for me to believe that after everything leading up to this point to get Orton over, they would cut his legs off before even getting to Wrestlemania.

    Re: *Results* Raw: Jan-26-09

So after punting Vince McMahon in the head, replaying the footage a thousand times, revolving the whole show around him and winning the Royal Rumble, you think they don't care about Orton?

I'm calling setup. I'd be shocked if it wasn't one and if it's not.. I have no reason to continue to watch it because I have no desire in seeing Shane McMahon wrestle.
