SDCC: Where the Wild Things Are Coming to IMAX
Source: ComingSoon.net
July 22, 2009
It looks like moviegoers will be able to see the creatures of Where the Wild Things Are even bigger, as ComingSoon.net learned at a special IMAX event held at Comic-Con on Wednesday that the Spike Jonze-directed adaptation will hit IMAX screens on October 16 as well.
The Warner Bros. release, featuring Catherine Keener, Max Records, Mark Ruffalo, Lauren Ambrose, James Gandolfini, Catherine O'Hara and Forest Whitaker, is based on Maurice Sendak's classic book about Max, who is sent to bed without supper and imagines sailing away to the land of Wild Things, where he is made king.

I think it looks awesome. I reminds me of Dark Crystal or Labyrinth for some reason. Probably because it's the closes we'll get now to one of the old Jim Henson films.
Re: Where the Wild Things Are (2009) - Preview & Discussion
It's definitely one of the few films that I'm looking forward to. It has the potential to be a great tale, no matter what age you are. Spike Jonze is directing it, so that's a plus. He did Being John Malkovich and Adaptation with Kaufman, right? So he's used to handling weird concepts.
