I thought it was enjoyable, but as in the first one... I wasn't a big fan of the action. I liked the comedy and Megan Fox's hotness, but the action Bay does just isn't my cup of tea. I like action movies like the Bourne Trilogy and The Terminator. Not these giant fucking robots, who I can barley tell apart, just hitting each other over and over again, with a bunch of random explosions here and there. Also, Bay carried the climax on waaaaayyyyy too fucking long. Both films had great paces until the final fight scenes. You just sit there and say, "Okay, I know there's a happy ending, so please just get there already."
And Ebert was a little harsh. He gave the first Transformers movie a great review and said he was close to giving it 4 stars. And while I agree with the assessment that the first one was overall better, it wasn't that better. I don't understand how he could enjoy the first one as much as he did, and downright HATE the second one. That makes no sense to me.

Enjoyable. But the novelty has worn off since the first one, as it would.
The first was very funny, this tries to be the more so but loses some of it's charm. The action was enjoyable but I struggled to see what was going on a lot of the time. Michael Bay sure does love to rotate around a lot.
It would've been better if it was 30 minutes shorter with a few less characters & robots.

I got what I wanted out of a film involving giant alien robots from outer space. Ebert is an elitist. I don't want to watch films about gay rights activists every fucking day.
^What he said.
Seriously, how can Ebert not only have seen the first film, but have enjoyed it, and then spend a paragraph complaining about stuff that was explained in the first film, not being explained in the second. Why should the film explain itself, when it already has done before? What a complete dick.
It a film about alien robots that turn into cars and planes and toasters and shit, why the fuck would I want to take it seriously. It's for fun dude, get over it and stop pissing on my party.
Sure, film can be an art form (just like music) but sometimes it's just entertainment (just like music).
I loved it.
