Release Date: August 7, 2009 Studio: Paramount Pictures Director: Stephen Sommers Screenwriter: Stuart Beattie Starring: Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Christopher Eccleston, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Byung Hun Lee, Sienna Miller, Rachel Nichols, Ray Park, Said Taghmaoui, Channing Tatum, Marlon Wayans, Dennis Quaid Genre: Action, Adventure MPAA Rating: Not Available Official Website: GIJoemovie.com Plot Summary: The movie will be a modern telling of the "G.I. Joe vs. Cobra" storyline and its compelling characters that Hasbro created 25 years ago. The premise of this fantasy is the story of the G.I. Joe team, led by Duke, and their "fight for freedom wherever there is trouble" against the evil Cobra Commander and his Cobra force. This storyline was an instant hit with kids in the early 1980s, spawning a highly popular 3-3/4-inch action figure line, comic book collection and animated series. The G.I. Joe team will not be based in Brussels. Instead, they will be based out of the "Pit" as they were throughout the 1980s comic book series. And, in keeping with the G.I. Joe vs. Cobra fantasy, the movie will feature characters and locations from around the world. Duke, the lead character and head of the G.I. Joe team, will embody the values of bravery and heroism that the first generation of G.I. Joe figures established.
So are they supposed to be a World force and not a U.S. force or what?

There are thousands to tell you it cannot be done,
There are thousands to prophesy failure;
There are thousands to point out to you one by one,
The dangers that wait to assail you.
But just buckle it in with a bit of a grin,
Just take off your coat and go to it;
Just start to sing as you tackle the thing
That "couldn’t be done," and you’ll do it.
George Clooney has been said to be pushing hard for the Duke role.
Really?
I didn't think any established actors would want anything to do with this film.

Sienna Miller is the first actor to enlist in Paramount Pictures' big-budget tentpole G.I. Joe, reports Variety.
The British actress will play the film's female lead, described as a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage.
Stephen Sommers directs the live-action film based on the Hasbro toys, comic book and TV series.
Paramount, which has set a mid-February start date, has slotted the film for an August 7, 2009, release.
The story is set at Brussels-based GIJOE, an acronym for the Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity, and revolves around an international co-ed force of operatives who use high-tech equipment to battle Cobra, an evil org headed by a Scottish arms dealer.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura (Transformers) is producing alongside Hasbro's Brian Goldner.

This is coming from our proven sources!
Storm Shadow aka Tommy S. Arashikage, Snake-Eye's brother and rival will be played by Korean Mega Star BYEONG-HEON LEE!
For all you gamers out there, his likeness was used for the main character in Capcom's game LOST PLANET.
He just wrapped a movie with Josh Harnett called, "I Come With The Rain"
His spelling under IMDB is Byung-Hun Lee. Check out his Bio "HERE"
This guy is a mega star in his native Korea. There is also a current Korean pop culture boom going on in Japan right now because of the Korean drama WINTER SONATA which he is in.
For those of you readers who are not familiar with Storm Shadow here is a little info on the character.
Storm Shadow's real name is Thomas S. Arashikage. Best known as the Cobra Commander's ninja bodyguard and assassin at times, he is the only member of the team to change sides several times, conflicted in loyalties between Cobra, G.I. Joe and his long relationship with his swordbrother Snake-Eyes. He usually wears a white uniform and mask. When out of his uniform, he is shown to be Japanese, with black hair and dark eyes. In 2007, the character's creator Larry Hama revealed an alternate name for the character, Tomisaburo Arashikage, in the solo series Storm Shadow. Although Tomisaburo is a single Japanese name, it may stand in for his middle initial in: Tommy/Thomas S Arashikage.
