When I first saw the trailer, I thought it was Disturbia 2. It doesn't look too bad and Penn Badgley's, so if it's horrible and cringe worthy, at least I'll have something nice to look at.

The original Stepfather was one of my favorite 80's horror movies. It's a simple story, yet so effective because it relies on a primal fear. With the rise of divorces since the 60's, children are forced into seeing their parents remarry. When a new person comes into play, how much do you really know about them?
As for this though, I don't have high hopes. While horror remakes of more well known movies have been pleasantly well made (Friday the 13th, Halloween and Dawn of the Dead), the lesser known ones have been pretty lousy. Black Christmas, When a Stranger Calls and Prom Night were all horrible. The thing that worries me the most is the combination of the movie being rated PG-13 and that the writer and director are the team that gave us the Prom Night remake. That doesn't give me much confidence at all.
I was considering going to see the movie, but with both Zombieland and Paranormal Activities out currently, I really don't feel like dropping so much money when all three will be on DVD in a few months.
