I'll probably see this with my girlfriend. I've read most of the books, but they aren't that bad. I can stomach them, although I hate Jacob Black!

Re: The Twilight Saga: New Moon (2009) - Preview & Discussion
I have to say that when the first movie came out, I thought WOW, I WILL NEVER BE CAUGHT DEAD WATCHING THIS MOVIE, STUPID LITTLE TWEENS and then we ended up going to a place that sells burnt copies of movies and we needed one more movie so we just grabbed it and the movie was actually good and Robert Pattinson was actually hot.
Jesus Christ, I need to go cut myself for exposing all of that just now.

I swore to myself that i'd never watch Twlight, mainly because of how much people talked about how awesome it was, and I just went against the grain. I caved eventually and wound up watching it on DVD when my sister bought it, good film, I even had a hoodie just like the girl in it wore. I've not read the books, and even now i'm not tempted too, shall watch the second film though. Baseball scene absoloutely owned btw.

I would say at least read the first book. If it sucks, you wouldn't need to read the other ones. Basically, the movie was just flat out horrible and just picked and chose when to take scenes from the book in addition to adding new scenes that didn't have any real meaning to it.

I'm sure my sister has them somewhere, i'll give the books a read then. The film itself seemed to center around the characters, not sure if that's the way it was supposed to be in the books, but it was something I didn't really like. The movie was a little slow paced too, from what I read about the film, they brushed off the scene where Bella and Edward where supposed to claim their love for each other. That seemed rather silly considering how important it was.

The books only concentrate on the main characters. However, the movie felt more like a cliff notes version of the book. The whole pick and choosing when to follow the book caused the film to come off looking horrible.
