Christianity is a valid religion and Ministers should not be forced to go against their religion. The argument could be made that this is a violation of the Separation of Church and State. They are in effect telling them how they conduct activities in their Church.

To force a minister or priest to violate their beliefs is no better then not allowing gays to marry if you want to get technical Suffy. I am all for equal rights (even though I strongly believe against homosexuality) but gay marriage itself should be done in a court house or other sanctioned areas. Leave it out of the church.

Honestly, it goes against what is said in the Bible, so as a Catholic I cannot agree with it being in the church. I can't think of why a priest would agree to marry a gay couple anyway. I wonder what percentage of gay couples would actually WANT to get married in a church anyway? Maybe it's high, I dunno.

This is no different than any heterosexual relationship you are in the feelings are the exact same, they only want what you are allowed. They aren't asking for more, they don't want your money, your possessions your anything, they just want the same rights you have. You are discriminating against people by not allowing them to marry it's basically the same thing as slavery not allowing people to do what they want. Common law isn't the same they just want what you have, that's all. I really don't understand at all how someone can be against gay marriage, people are people no matter what.

I will never support it in a Church. Marriage is historically known as a religous issue. I think they should come up with something where they have the same rights as married people without calling it marriage. That way both sides can give a little.

Do you want every Christian to say the Bible is wrong, that it is o.k. to be gay, and recognize gay marriage? Not gonna happen. Christians do not have to recognize gay marriage and they should not have to. That is their religous beliefs and the government cannot tell them what to believe.

What's the difference? When I get married one day -- like millions and millions of others -- it's gonna be with zero regard for God or for whatever supposed "institutions" came along with the idea of marriage in the first place.
