Dak, you seem to be missing my entire agenda, which agrees entirely with Ron Paul. The problem is NOT with the companies providing health insurance. The problem is with health care industry, and how it's governed. It's not going to be fixed by provided health care to every American. The laufer curve IS NOT going to work in this case. Simply improbable, especially considering the average age of America is getting older, which is only going to rise health care costs.

Our whole economy is messed up and Pro-big business/big government. There is now way to ever stop that.

You seem to be dismissing the fact that Universal Healthcare is working for every other Industrialized nation in the world.

BTW, I don't agree with every thing Ron Paul does. I have thoughts of my own.

What about me. I am a full time student and I only make $40 a week. How am I going to afford healthcare?

Besides, the healthcare coverage they provide is complete crap. Something like a $800 deductible.

There are a lot of students who don't fall into the financial aid category because they aren't old enough to claim themselves as independents and their parents make just enough money to not qualify. So between them dishing out their tuition costs, books, gas money, and whatever.. Maybe they don't have an extra $65. Just saying.

Not at all, but my question is at what cost?

If I'm understanding the UK taxation rate right, the average American (Assuming a $45,000 a year salary) would be paying $4,950 (11% taxation rate) a year. On top of that, the employer has to match an additional 12.8%, which means another $5,760. The only advantage is that this would likely eliminate medicare, and the 1.45% tax that both the employee and the employer pay. So you can essentially assume a savings of $652.
