Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

I know this has been a discussion before, but fucking crap.

I've never once had a good experience with a fucking cop. Not once have I called on a cop, and it actually pay off in the end.

I was working at a store we got robbed for a game system, I called the police up they showed up 25 minutes later. 25 fucking minute response time. They come walking in casually then in the end blame me for inconveniencing them. They basically stated I should have been more safe, and not let it happen. Even though the guy had his hand in his pocket, telling the girl behind the counter to give him it. She was in tears, and the cops gave no sympathy. And in the end they said they'll file a report, and they cant do anything about it. I told them but I have their license plate number, and a description. They claimed they couldn't do anything. It's like wtf is the point of police when they have no fucking use seriously?

So at that point it's like ok thats one situation.

So I know people are saying oh it must be you, you are probably a punk, its because you are a kid.

Easily disputable.

My mother alls the police one day when I was a kid, and told the police that I wanted to get a few of my balls that went over the fence, but the guy was making threats at me. The guy was basically saying he'd kill me if I stepped on his property. So my mother called them up to come on the scene, and solve the problem. Their answer sorry we don't have time to respond to such a matter. Wow thanks guys. So the situation escalates over the next few weeks, the guy ends up coming on my property threatening my mother. The cops finally show up, and blame it on my mother saying the situation is her fault, and she should control her kid. Even after the guy threated her. Brilliant.

A friend of mine gets into an accident he was going straight the lady was taking a left. She doesn't look runs right into him. The cops come on the scene the kid was telling them what happened. The cop responds we dont give a fuck what you have to say kid you are probably lying anyway.

I recently was arrested they refused to take a police report from me, in court I stated this, and they claimed I refused to say what happened at the scene. Even though I fucking said I wanted to say what happened and they said its ok we already really know what happened.

I know people will step in here, and say oh, but if you really needed they'd be there for you. You'd lean on them in a time of need. Fuck that my parents who are upper middle class people share the same thoughts as I do. These are two people that are living a really good life, and aren't a young kid like myself. These are people who've been through experiences similar to mine, and even at their age feel that most cops are corrupt pieces of shit.

Anyway, have people actually experienced something good with police officer? Maybe it's where I live I don't know. Because jesus it's been a really awful around here lately.

Re: Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

must be only pigs in the surrounding for towns/cities i live in that are corrupt pieces of shit...

of course the same cops gave tickets to handicap people going into cvs to pick up prescriptions. Basically cvs has no handicap spots so old people park in the back and you aren't supposed to. Only problem is theres no ramp up front to park, and they'd have to go all the way to the back to get their prescriptions. So the cops decided to give tickets to all the old people instead of letting them off with a warning.

Same cops also gave tickets to people at a local Church who were said to have parked illegally on Easter. Yah you heard it right Easter the cops gave about 100 tickets to people.

Re: Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

It's really fun for me in Canada, espicially considering where I live.

See I am very fluent in French Canada's second national language, so if I get pulled over by a cop all I have to say is

"Je veux mes dois en français s'il vous plait" which means I want my rights in french please, and I don't have to answer anything he says unless it's in french and he cannot issue a ticket to me unless he can either speak french or decides to waste the time and call in a french speaking officer from the St. Boniface area.

Re: Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

I have had some good experiences with Cops after being pulled over for speeding. Some were nice and understanding and some wrote me tickets and some left me off with warnings.

However, I have had some very bad experiences with Cops. Radar Detectors are legal in W.V. Every time I get pulled over I unplug my radar detector. The first thing the Cop asks is if the radar detector was. The next time this is how the conversation will go.

Me: "Are radar detectors illegal in W.V."

Cop: "No"

Me: "Then it is none of your damn business is it?"

I mean really, they have no right to ask me about a radar detector.

I'm a good old rebel,
Now thats just what I am,
And for this Yankee nation,
I do not give a damn.
I'm glad we fought against her,
I only wish we'd won.
I ain't asking any pardon for anything we've done.

Re: Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

Boston and surrounding areas have for a long time been some of the most corrupt individuals the city has seen. It like a gang, lol. But to be honest I try to draw as little attention to myself that I rarely if ever interact with police at all.

But yeah, they are out there.

Re: Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

the state police are assholes but my town cops are fair individuals. Sure.. they'll pick on you if you have a history or dickhead behavior, but for the most part if there's a fight or something.. they'll just send everyone home. They've gotten a lot tougher on DUI's though and they always like to break up a loud party.. probably nothing better to do.

Re: Honestly have people had good experiences with cops?

I'm sure there are shitty policemen everywhere. My own experiences (limited) have been that they're usually fine so long as you're polite and courteous and show some (phoney?) regret if you've been caught doing something wrong...or if they suspect you've done something wrong.

They're just like everybody else by and large and, from what I've seen, if you give them stick or disrespect them in any way....they give it back............and it makes them seem like jerks since, hey you have an arguement with them, chances are, they're winning and they know it.

There are armed units, for example if they are raiding somewhere they suspect to be full of "crims packing" (is that how you say it....how very "street" of me!).

However, the average policeman on the street carries nothing more than an extendable truncheon.
