Which Presidential Candidate Can Save Our Economy?

When you look at the numbers it is quite astounding. We as a country are $9.4 trillion in debt and our unfunded liabilities equal up to another $44 trillion.

With the economy in the shape it is in right now I find myself wondering if Mitt Romney is the right choice to save our economy. He has an extensive background with economics and he knows who the players are and how it works. He knows how to create jobs and how to read the signs of the market to see where it is going. I cannot agree with his stance on some issues but I wouldn't really feel too bad if we ended up with Mitt Romney as President especially with the big Recession word being thrown around.

Don't get me wrong though, I really like Ron Paul's ideas. One thing we must do to save our economy is to quit spending so much. The only candidate I have saw that proposes to quit wasteful speding is Ron Paul. He proposes to pull out of Iraq immediately and to trim the bureacracy and eliminate several agencies that are no longer needed for our government. We are in serious trouble and I still can't help but believe that Ron Paul is the right choice because he understands we will have to quit wasteful spending.

I think it is not only going to take someone who knows the market and can create jobs, but someone who understands that we have to quit wasteful spending as well.

Notice I didn't mention any Democratic candidates because ALL of them propose more wastefull government spending! I really fear for our economy if a Democrat gets elected. About the only thing they have right is that we will have to get rid of George W. Bush's tax cuts.

Thoughts?

This is why I like Mitt. His financial expertise triumphs all of the other candidates.

With that, he's also a strong leader; someone who can re-unite a country. I don't agree with many of his personal beliefs on civil issues, but he's the best choice for what I consider to be the most important issue - the economy.

The only thing that is a concern for me is that he has said nothing about reducing spending by the government. With the huge mountain of debt we are facing, the only way to manage it is for the government to bring more money in (raising taxes) and quit spending so much (ending the war in Iraq and getting rid of some dead weight government agencies.) If he doesn't do that, we are going to still be in trouble.

I am still leaning towards Ron Paul for that reason, but Mitt Romney would be my second choice.

Hypocrisy at it's worst!

You are right. I had never really heard him talk about this before but I was listening to the Sean Hannity radio show on the way home from class today and he interviewed Mitt Romney over the telephone.

I have to say I feel a lot better about Mitt Romney now than I did.

Re: What Presidential Candidate Can Save Our Economy?

Can someone tell me what else Mitt would be good for besides the economy? I am just asking because the dude didnt do shit that I can see the entire time he was in Massachusetts.

Thanks

A concerned citizen.

P.S. Downtown Boston (right next door to the State House) went from a very busy, active area (for like 100 years) to a barren gang riddiled section in his time in office. Just one observation.

The choice is clear then.

Ron Paul ftw.

While the guy probably didn't help you, he did establish something that no one else has ever done - a statewide healthcare plan. He did it with pretty good success too. Balanced budget, which the states are required to have, and he didn't put any private healthcare workers out of a job. With every other candidate proposing their own healthcare plan, it's just another reason why Mitt is the right guy for the job. He has past experience developing a healthcare plan that the government provides.
