The Eventual War With Iran

It is seeming more and more likey that we are going to end up at war with Iran. The most recent accusation is that some Iranian Republican Guard Boats were acting threatening to some of our warships.

The US National Security Advisor Stephen Hadley had this to say about the incident:

"It's a warning to them. They've got to be very careful about this, because if it happens again, they are going to bear the consequences of that incident," Hadley said Wednesday.

Speaking aboard Air Force One as it brought US President George W. Bush to occupied Palestine, Hadley said the incident was a very provocative act by the Iranians adding that "it could have -- and came very close to -- resulting in an altercation between our forces and their forces. "

Washington earlier alleged that IRGC speedboats had harassed three US Navy warships in the Strait of Hormuz on Sunday and later released footage of the incident.

I fear that we are going to end up having another Gulf of Tonkin like incident which started the Vietnam War and would in this case start a war with Iran.

These are some time we need to be very careful about our foreign policy, especially as we are about to choose a new leader. If we end up at war with Iran it will almost guarantee a return to the draft. All of you young men should think about before going to the polls.

So what do you think about it?

Are we looking for a reason to invade Iran?

I say YES, and it would be a disaster.

I turn 20 in feb. Im the youngest child. Would I be drafted? What if I got married?

It depends on how they would do it.

Usually they take into consideration being an only child, if you are married, if you are attending college....etc.

If it gets bad enough that they need more troops, they start eliminating some of those exemptions.

If a war is going to happen, it will happen. We can pull all of our troops home right now but I beleive it will just weaken us. I have faith that we will pull out when its necessary. I am not going to vote for Ron Paul just cause im scared that MAYBE we will be in a war soon and there COULD be a draft.

Pulling out our troops will no weaken us. It will help our foreign policy because we won't be on other peoples tuf. America of today is the bully of the world.

I have no faith in our current administration or anyone running for President except Ron Paul. He is the only one who is truly speaking of change.

It is no skin off my nose if we go to war with Iran. I am 25 and in college, I would be one of the last one taken. But I am more worried about the United States. If we go to war with Iran it could start World War III. World War III could very well mean the end of the U.S. as we know it.

All I am asking is for everyone to consider these issues before going to the polls.
