Is marriage necessary?

Half of Americans 20 to 69 years of age believe marriage is not necessary -- according to a new study from onenewsnow.com

They surveyed 7,000 Americans in that age bracket and found 44 percent who said marriage is not necessary in order to have a committed, fulfilling, life-long relationship.

Well things are sure changing quick. I can only wonder what people from a few generations are thinking about this one.

I think the lack of respect towards marriage has essentially influenced their decision towards making it unnecessary.

This supports the theory that half of married couples get divorced sometime throughout the relationship. Not a surprise really to hear that stat.

I think its just ugly people that oppose marriage to boost their self confidence.

Anyone ever hear that theory that the human race is going to split because the ugly pricks keep only getting the ugly dames? and vice versa for the hot people? I actually think this will happen to some extent. The good will get better looking and the ugly will get uglier.

Thank god I am hot and married for over 7 years now........to another hot person.

I don't oppose marriage but I do oppose some girl taking half my shit because she's tired of me for whatever the reason.

I'm not getting married until I'm 100% confident that it's going to work and that's a mistake everyone even my age seems to make on a consistent basis.

People shouldnt even consider marriage till they are at least 24 or so. You have no idea how much you change as a person from 19 to 29. The problem is often times two 19 years old that marry are like "Who the fuck are you?" to their spouse 10 years later. (not that it would make it that far often).

Just ask anyone in their 30's and 40's what they were thinking when they were 20 and they will all laugh and say "Thank god I didn't (fill in the blank)

I can't say I'm totally different now (just turned 25) than I was when I was 18.. but there are differences in the way I look at certain things and I'm sure there will be more differences to come. I feel like I might not truly know myself until I'm near 30 and if I don't know myself how can I expect to know someone else? at least.. enough to get married.That's why my relationships, no matter how good they start off seem to fall apart rather quickly. Bogus. I have a lot of things that I need to accomplish before I can even begin to focus on a family. With that said, it's well know around here that I'm not quite the partier as I once was and random hoes seem to annoy me more now than ever before.
