thinking How to improve education?

How would you improve the education system that needs a major overhaul?

Is it a easy step? Or is it something we can start to change now, but its going to take a little while?

It is going to take a little while.

I think we need to put the power back at state level. This is another place where the Federal Government has stuck there nose and it doesn't belong.

Re: How to improve education?

I like the idea of paying family's with children 5,000$ for each child that doesn't go to public schools. This would lower enrollment at public schools by giving parents incentive to send their kids to private school. It would also save tax money because it costs more than 5,000$ to educate a child per year in most public school systems.

Re: How to improve education?

I like the idea of getting rid of this stupid ass Standardized Testing that determines funding for public schools.

Re: How to improve education?

Perhaps more funding should go to schools that don't pass standarized tests, they need it more.

I like that idea a lot.

Combine this with giving the power back to the states when it comes to education and it sounds like a really good plan to me.

Re: How to improve education?

I agree with getting rid of standerized testing. The schools that do well, and receive the money are not the ones that need it. They are usually located in a well off neighborhood. Funding needs to go to the underprivledged schools.

They need more "Lean on Me" principals.
