Stephen Colbert Tops Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich in Presidential Poll

Quote:
According to a new Rasmussen Reports national survey of Colbert's prospects, the comedian culls greater support from likely voters than either Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich when he is pitted against those candidates.

Given a choice between Colbert running as a Democrat and Republican Congressman Ron Paul, 36% of voters prefer Colbert while Paul attracts 32%. Twenty-one percent (21%) say they’d vote for some other candidate while 10% are not sure.

If the choice is between Colbert as a Republican and Democratic Congressman Dennis Kucinich, it’s Colbert 37%, Kucinich 32%. Nineteen percent (19%) would vote for some other candidate and 11% are not sure.

Considering he's in his 70's it would most likely kill him not beat him.

Actually Ron Paul has quite a following, especially on the internet. And the amazing thing about it is that a great number of his suporters are young people and as you know, young people are not known for voting.

He just may surprise you Miss Jackie Pies.

Maybe I should state that a cake could beat Ron Paul instead. People love cake.

I thought everyone loved pie

Ahem

And BTW Slim, Colbert attempted to get on the ballet as a Democrat today and got denied due to lack of campaigning or something like that.

So Lary Craig can rest easy in his VP bid lol Colbert's not going forward with the joke.

Re: Stephen Colbert Tops Ron Paul and Dennis Kucinich in Presidential Poll

I used cake instead of pie, b/c I didn't want to confuse anyone into thinking that I'm running.

The unfortunate side to a large internet following is that it doesn't translate into a large following nationwide. This goes for any area, whether it's business, entertainment, and, yes, politics. Remember Howard Dean? He had an internet following that was probably close to double the size of Ron Paul's.

Along with that, polls can be easily skewed by internet savvy users, like most of Ron Paul's following. I know of one poll where Ron Paul had double the votes that any of the other candidates. In theory, he probably only 1/8th of that. I know this because I have done it before. But, if Ron Paul is who you're placing your confidence in, that's your right.
