Burnley boss Owen Coyle will be without skipper Steven Caldwell as his side go into the second leg of the Carling Cup semi-final trailing 4-1 to Tottenham.
Caldwell is suspended while striker Steve Thompson is cup-tied so Robbie Blake and Wade Elliott should come in.
Tottenham captain Ledley King is ruled out with a hamstring strain, but left-back Benoit Assou-Ekotto could return.
Goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes, Vedran Corluka (both thigh), Jermaine Jenas (calf) and Aaron Lennon are all out.
Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp has got a long list of injuries to contend with, which could mean only Jonathan Woodgate and Didier Zokora will remain from side that started against Chelsea in the final of the competition last season.
With Spurs out of the Premier League's bottom three only on goal difference, Redknapp said he hopes the Carling Cup run can help his players push on to safety.
"It didn't help league form last year as we only won three games after (winning the Carling Cup) until I arrived," said Redknapp.
"I hope it has the reverse effect. The key is getting into the final and winning some league games - these are the two competitions that matter.
"We have to get to Wembley and stay in the Premier League. The FA Cup and Uefa Cup are very secondary."
Burnley have taken a severe dip in form in recent weeks, with a run of five defeats from seven games.
The slump has seen Owen Coyle's side drop out of the Championship play-off places and the manager admitted that turning around a three-goal deficit against the Premier League side is a tall order.
"You don't have to be Einstein to recognise that Tottenham Hotspur, with all their quality and a three-goal lead, are clear favourites," said Coyle.
"There's no doubt we're trying to climb Everest and beyond but I believe that if we play to our capabilities then we can win the match on the night." <!-- E SF -->
