KICKOFF: Sunday, 1:00 ET
SURFACE: Grass
TV: CBS (Gus Johnson, Steve Tasker)
SERIES: 14th regular-season meeting. Titans lead series 11-2. The Titans have dominated the series against the club that replaced it when it moved from Houston to Tennessee. The Texans' only victories came in 2004, and the Titans won 31-12 earlier this season in Nashville.
PREDICTION: Titans 21-20
KEYS TO THE GAME: The Titans rushed for 158 yards in the first meeting while QB Kerry Collins wasn't sacked once. Now that's some dominating line play. The Texans have to get a better effort from their front seven if they hope to be more competitive this time. Plays will be there for Collins to make downfield with Houston expected to use a lot of eight-man looks against RBs Chris Johnson and LenDale White. ... The Texans have risen to third in the league in total offense on the strength of rookie RB Steve Slaton. He has rushed for 120-plus yards three times in the past four weeks, and Houston will try to establish him early. QB Matt Schaub can pile up big numbers, but he remains turnover prone and didn't complete a pass in the first quarter of the first meeting. To threaten in the rematch, the Texans must prevent the Titans' defensive line from dominating.
Specialties: Both teams are averaging 42.8 yards per punt, although the Titans have 69 attempts to the Texans' 39.
KEY INJURIES: Titans: DE Kyle Vanden Bosch (groin) will be a game-day decision; CB Nick Harper (ankle) is expected to play. Texans: S Nick Ferguson (knee) could be a game-day decision.
FAST FACTS: Tennessee clinches home-field advantage in the AFC with a win and a loss by Pittsburgh. ... Slaton has 1,024 rushing yards and is averaging 5.0 yards per carry. Only nine rookies in NFL history have finished a season with more than 1,000 yards and 5.0-plus yards per carry.
