Sunderland manager Roy Keane on his 100th game in charge of the Black Cats:
"It's a little milestone but it's just a number, there are a lot of managers out there who have in excess of 1,000 games.
"Clearly, I'm still learning my trade. I've made plenty of mistakes but I'm positive that we can improve and get better over the course of the season.
"I'm disappointed with the last few results but we'll keep going and trying to improve the club. I enjoy being manager of Sunderland."
Bolton boss Gary Megson:
"It's important to get a run of results at any stage, which is an obvious statement.
"But it's difficult for a team of our stature to get runs going because at some point there'll be a Manchester United, Liverpool or Chelsea away game thrown into the mix.
"The Premier League is a really tough demanding league so you have to get your wins when you can.
"But we don't set out to go on runs, we set out to win each and every game that we play in."
Facts and Figures
Sunderland lie one point and one place above the relegation zone and five places below Bolton. Victory in Roy Keane's 100th match in charge would see the Black Cats leapfrogging the Trotters.
Bolton have won three matches on their Premier League travels; Sunderland have only won two at home.
Only West Bromwich Albion have scored fewer goals than Sunderland; only the rock bottom Baggies have lost more than both the Mackems and Bolton.
Sunderland climbed out of the relegation zone when they won last season's corresponding fixture 3-1 on 29 December last year; Bolton all but secured their Premier League status by beating Sunderland
2-0 in the reverse fixture in May.
Distance between the clubs: 148 miles (238 kilometres)
