KICKOFF: Monday, 8:30 ET
SURFACE: Grass
TV: ESPN (Mike Tirico, Ron Jaworski, Tony Kornheiser, Suzy Kolber, Michele Tafoya)
SERIES: 14th regular-season meeting. The Texans lead the series and swept the Jaguars in 2006 when the Texans were 6-10. They have a history of playing well against the Jaguars and have won three of the last five games although the Jaguars won the first game this year by 30-27 margin in overtime.
PREDICTION: Texans 27-24
KEYS TO THE GAME: Jaguars RBs Maurice Jones Drew (32) and Fred Taylor (25) rushed for a combined 57 yards in the first meeting - a number Jacksonville is looking to improve upon significantly in the rematch. Houston gives up 129.1 rushing yards per game, so the Jaguars have an opportunity to control the clock - and the game - on the ground. And with QB David Garrard less than 100 percent, the Jaguars certainly don't want to get in a situation where they have to turn to the passing game to come from behind. ... The Texans are fourth in the league in passing offense, and they'll likely win or lose this game through the air because of injuries throughout their backfield. That puts a large burden on turnover-prone QB Sage Rosenfels, who has nine interceptions and two lost fumbles in five games. The good news is the Jaguars don't rush the passer particularly well, so Rosenfels should be comfortable in the pocket.
KEY INJURIES: Jaguars: Garrard (bruised ribs) will play but his mobility could be limited. Texans: RBs Ryan Moats (ankle) and Steve Slaton (chest, ribs) should play while Ahman Green (knee) is now out for the season; QB Matt Schaub (knee) is out.
FAST FACTS: The Jaguars will play four games in an 18-day stretch starting Monday. ... The Texans are the only NFL team to have never played on Monday Night Football. It will be the Jaguars' first MNF road game since 2000.
