KICKOFF: Sunday, 4:15 ET
SURFACE: FieldTurf
TV: CBS (Kevin Harlan, Rich Gannon)
SERIES: 31st regular-season meeting. Broncos lead series, 15-14-1, and Denver beat the Jets 27-0 in the last meeting, in 2007. Denver defeated the Jets 23-10 in the 1998 AFC Championship Game. The Broncos are 3-6 all time in Giants Stadium against the Jets and Giants.
PREDICTION: Jets 27-24
KEYS TO THE GAME: Which Denver offense will show up? You never know from one week to the next, with the Broncos 5-0 when they don't lose the turnover battle. The Broncos' patchwork backfield will have a tough time gaining much traction against the Jets' third-ranked run defense, so the bulk of the offense will fall on QB Jay Cutler's arm. If the ground game stalls early, don't be surprised to see Denver simply spread the field and test the depth of the Jets' secondary. ... The Jets have scored on their opening possession in each of their past six games, and QB Brett Favre admitted he is getting more and more comfortable with the play-calling. Favre should be able to orchestrate sustained drives with RB Thomas Jones chipping away at the 27th-ranked run defense to set up the passing game. And with Denver going without a sack the past three weeks, Favre knows he'll also have ample time in the pocket. The onus will be on the Broncos to find a way to contain Jones and put Favre in situations where he'll force the ball downfield.
KEY INJURIES: Broncos: CB Champ Bailey (groin) and LB Nate Webster (knee) could be game-day decisions; LB D.J. Williams (knee) is likely out another week. Jets: ILB David Harris (groin) and SS Eric Smith (concussion after-effects) practiced some this week but are likely another week away.
FAST FACTS: With two touchdown passes, Cutler will reach 50 in a team-record 33 career games. ... The Jets seek their first six-game winning streak since 2000.
