Does he have to phisically return or just an announcment? EG if his entrance music plays at Summerslam but he doesnt actually apear does that count?

What about a backstage video like he did a few years ago? He appeared on the screen & yada yada, lighting bolts on his command etc. Gave the impression that he was there but he didnt actually appear in the ring area. What im asking is does backstage count or just in the ring area?

Im only asking because im thinking something will happen at Summerslam, but he wont appear in the ring area.

I would consider an appearance if he shows up on the titantron and does what you mentioned or shows up inside the arena/ring area.
