Alex Van Pelt's play calling: The Bills decided to jettison offensive coordinator Turk Schonert prior to the season and hand over the duties to Van Pelt. In the first two weeks of the season, the Bills showed promising signs offensively, but since then the team has scored just 20 points in three games. Van Pelt must figure out a way to get more from the offense this weekend against the Jets.

Calvin Pace's defensive fit: The veteran linebacker returned from a four-game suspension and had five tackles against Miami. The defense was embarrassed by the Dolphins and after missing the first month, Pace has to show he can slide seamlessly into Rex Ryan's unit and become the dynamic playmaker he was last season.

Braylon Edwards' immediate impact: In his first game with the Jets, Edwards was sensational, catching five passes for 64 yards and a touchdown. He will look to build on that performance against a Bills team that held his former club, the Browns, to just 23 yards passing last week.
