Mare's job security: Seahawks coach Jim Mora blasted Mare for his two missed field goals after last Sunday's loss, but ultimately decided to keep the veteran -- for now. If Mare struggles early and misses another kick, would Mora hesitate to send him out in a close game?

T.J. Houshmandzadeh's offensive role: The former Bengals star is off to a slow start in Seattle. Through three games, he has yet to catch a touchdown pass and has only 145 yards receiving. Look for Seattle to get him more involved early regardless of who starts at quarterback (Matt Hasselbeck is still nursing a broken rib; Seneca Wallace is his backup).

Manning's hot streak: Despite losing Anthony Gonzalez in Week 1 to a leg injury and throwing to an undistinguished wide receiver corps (aside from Reggie Wayne and Dallas Clark), Manning is off to one of the best starts of his career. He leads the AFC in passer rating (117.7) and is also atop the conference in touchdown passes with seven.
