Gary Kubiak's response: The Texans entered the season with playoff hopes and their embarrassing Week 1 loss to the Jets has the coach under some pressure. His charges will have to show more toughness and resolve against the physical Titans or the criticism of Kubiak will only build.

Steve Slaton's adjustment to being a defensive target: Big things were expected from the second-year running back after he burst onto the scene as a rookie in 2008 with 1,282 rushing yards and 10 total touchdowns. Against a Jets defense intent on stopping him, Slaton had only 17 rushing yards on nine carries. No longer an unknown to opposing coordinators, Slaton must now figure out how to beat defenses focused on stopping him.

Kenny Britt's continued development: In his first game last week, the rookie wideout had a standout performance with 85 yards on four catches. Tennessee will need him to produce similar stats on a weekly basis if it hopes to diversify its offense from being a predominantly run-based attack.
