Nobody can run forever. That’s the lesson slowly dawning on Divas Champion Maryse.
Despite the conceited Canadian’s efforts to seemingly avoid Mickie James, the Divas Champion must now face her rival one-on-one in a title match at Night of Champions.
For her part, the four-time Women’s Champion persevered match after match, defeating Maryse in singles and tag team competitions, resolute in her determination to face the Divas Champion for an opportunity at gold. That perseverance finally paid off when Mickie became the No. 1 contender to the Divas Championship after defeating three other Divas in a Fatal Four Way Match: Kelly Kelly, Beth Phoenix and Rosa Mendes. During that match, Mickie displayed the fortitude that has made her such a looming threat to Maryse.
To imply that Maryse will not put up a hard-charging defense, however, would be not only premature but foolish. With athleticism to match her beauty, Maryse has proven resourceful, cunning and willing to do just about anything to retain her place atop the Divas division. She may need to summon all of those traits in order to fend off her rival at Night of Champions.
What will happen when these sexy, smart and powerful ladies collide? Can Mickie finally capitalize on her long-awaited title opportunity? Or will Maryse use all of her craftiness to her retain her championship?

Tough call. They have made it clear Mickie is better than Maryse (though we already knew this) and that Maryse is scared of Mickie. I am leaning towards Mickie, but will wait a little before betting.
