Liverpool travel to survival-chasing West Brom on Sunday lunchtime desperately hoping their dreams of winning the Premier League title are still alive.
Rafa Benitez's Reds are anxious to end a nagging, 19-year wait for league silverware, but arch-rivals Manchester United may have already taken matters out of their hands.
Sir Alex Ferguson's side require only one point at Arsenal in Saturday's early kick-off, which can also be seen live on Sky Sports 1 and HD1, to secure a third successive championship and equal Liverpool's record of 18 top-flight crowns.
Rock-bottom West Brom could, therefore, be the side with something to play for as Tony Mowbray's team are battling to maintain their status in England's pinnacle tier.
Hope
Last season's Championship winners gave themselves hope with a shock 3-1 home victory over Wigan in their most recent outing.
But the Baggies are well aware that, sitting three points from safety and well adrift on goal difference with two games to play, even a win over Liverpool may not be enough come next weekend if results elsewhere are not favourable.
West Brom goalkeeper Scott Carson is hoping to win a recall against his former club after a hand injury but he may struggle to displace Dean Kiely, who impressed against Wigan.
Mowbray has his fingers crossed he will have at least one recognised left-back to select from against the men from Merseyside.
Paul Robinson and Marek Cech are both doubts as the former has an ankle problem while the latter limped out of the victory over the Latics with cramp.
James Morrison is still struggling to overcome the heel problem which has troubled him in recent weeks and central defender Abdoulaye Meite (hamstring) is ruled out again.
Perfect record
Liverpool possess a perfect Premier League record over West Brom after winning seven out of seven games and scoring 22 goals, conceding none, in the process.
However, doubts surround the fitness of influential midfielder Xabi Alonso, who missed last weekend's win at West Ham after suffering bruising from a wild challenge from Joey Barton in the previous success over Newcastle.
Lucas Leiva will again be ready to deputise if his team-mate is not fit, while Football Writers' Association Player of the Year Steven Gerrard and Fernando Torres are set to continue their potent attacking partnership.
If Liverpool's title dreams are over, Bayer Leverkusen-bound centre-back Sami Hyypia could be offered a run-out as he nears the end of his memorable, and successful, career with the Anfield outfit.
