Well, you might know by now that Yankees OF Gary Sheffield was placed on the DL this week.. he should be back soon. Now, while diving for a bloop single, OF Hideki Matsui has gone down with a broken wrist that requires surgery and is expected to miss 3 months.

So will the Yankees go the route of the Pirates or Royals and call up someone from AAA for a few months while Matsui heals? Doubtful..There are already rumors that they are expected to contact the Reds about Ken Griffey Jr. and Austin Kearns...

Can I blame them? Well, no.. I suppose I can't but IMO as long as the playing field continues down this path, baseball can never be what the NFL is.. There's a couple reasons why I like football better than baseball and this is the main one.
